I really love what Prairie Pines has done with the course over the past two years — it’s in great shape and plays really well. The improvements are noticeable and make it a fun place to golf. That said, the biggest issue is time management. The pace of play is chronically slow. I’ve had at least two rounds of nine holes stretching close to three hours because league play isn’t a shotgun start. On weekends, it can be even worse — today we waited over 20 minutes on the tee box with 2 groups stacked up on the third hole’s Tee box in front of us. The pro was nice enough to give us a rain check and apologized for the extended delay, which I appreciated. But that still doesn’t fix the underlying issue. Unfortunately, there was no marshal around to help keep things moving. The course would really benefit from having a marshal during busy times to ensure rounds don’t stretch into six hours for 18 holes. As much as I enjoy the course conditions, I was looking at a membership here for next year but I can’t justify it given the time commitment it takes just to play a round at Prairie Pines

An Incomplete, pardon our dust, work in progress, stay tuned, more to come, wait and see, and just around the corner kind of course. Big Athletic Club buys run down course in Sun Prairie. A family gets to work making a dream come true. For now, it will be fun to play and spectate the workers transforming the venue. In a few years Sun Prairie will have a course, bar, restaurant and wedding venue we can be proud of and has needed for so long.

Awesome course with reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly and the bar had ice cold beer. We had a few questions and everyone was so helpful. We will definitely be coming back!!

Fun course, not super difficult, a little rough on the newer holes but enjoyed the greens and the undulations. Bunkers were in good shape as well. We will be back. Decent pricing, staff was very cordial and friendly.

Our two-some got paired with another two-some, put in front of an actual two-some...then let them play through and waited 5 minutes for a guy to be done watering the green. On the next hole we got yelled at for playing too slow (2 hours for 9 holes is too slow I guess). The guy said the two ahead of us were two holes ahead when clearly they werent, we could see them on the same hole as us. I guess what Im saying is, our son wants to stsrt playing golf and this wont be the place. They overpaid the place and judging by the other reviews us normies arent cutting it for the new crowd.
