NOT WELCOMING TO CHILDREN. My family of five stayed on the resort and ticket package for House on the Rock. The gentleman who checked us in was very hospitable. I was not going to be critical of this hotel, because I thought the rooms were fine. Bedding was updated and nice, "kitchenette" doesnt have a sink, which is a big downside. Decor and furniture on the retro side, which I thought was fitting with the theme of the hotel. There were a few dead bugs in the room and the balcony was quite dirty. The indoor pool was clean and spacious. The outdoor pool was green and scummy. The bar and grill, was very limited. But the girl who served us there was GREAT! I would never go back and never recommend anyone with kids visits this hotel. Just normal use of the pool was " too noisy" for the very rude and condescending evening front desk attendants. They actually stood and glared at us thru a window for 15 minutes like some kind of horror movie. Then claimed there was guest complaints, mind you there are no rioms nearby and the complaint came from the bar....so it was too loud for the bar...? A fellow guest did come and state the kids were being well behaved while i was at the desk, but that didnt stop Ember from rolling her eyes at me and both her and Jerry from giving me the worst version of hospitality I have ever encountered in my life. You get the feeling that the hotel is empty and the "regulars" probably like it that way, quiet, like a tomb. And they do not like kids and families messing that up. Ken the manager was very responsive, kind, and understanding of the situation, and Josh at the front desk in the morning was very accommodating as well. It was an unfortunate experience.

The location is beautiful. Tucked into a valley with a golf course. We had a room with a balcony that overlooks the golf course with a tree lined ridge behind it. Gorgeous. The reasons for a 3 stars… It was the room and overall upkeep of the property and buildings. The rooms didn’t seem to be finished. TV in the main area was just hanging on the wall with cords running open down the wall. There was no coffee table in the main area - just a small couch unfittingly sitting against the wall, tv and fixtures hanging etc. I felt like I was in a trailer. This all seems picky but it could be really nice with some low cost attention to detail. Same with the hallways leading to the rooms. The bar closes at 8pm which seems early but they may be having staffing issues. We didn’t try the food, but had a couple good drinks at the bar with a nice attentive younger female bartender. Some maintenance and minor upgrades would help a lot.

It was close enough to House on the Rock but it definitely left things to be desired. I'm very easy to please when it comes to hotels, also. Pros: we had a suite with two beds and it was very nice because each bed had a separate room. There was a microwave, a good sized refrigerator, and a sink in the kitchen area. There is also a pool area with two pools, however the water was way too cold for me and I never adjusted enough to stay in and have fun with my son. There is also a nice hot tub/whirlpool. Cons: the whole place smelled quite badly. We think it's probably from the carpets being in need of replacement. The hallways are long and awkward to get to from the parking lot. There were only two ice machines, on the first floor and the third floor and both were broken. The room itself was okay. I thought at first that the pocket doors were cute and fun, but by the end of the night, I was over them as they were very heavy and there wasn't much to grip onto to close/open them. I can't say how the shower was. I also thought it would be a great idea for them to put up a NEW sign for the pool. There is one that says "key card needed" for entry, but that isn't true. Most of the world is right-handed so everyone thought to pull on the right door, but it's unlocked from the left door. Many people went up to reception to ask about it. Seems easier for everyone if they just put up a sign. Overall, it was just okay. End rant.

First time staying at this resort and the whole family loved it. The staff were friendly and the rooms are clean. There were a few spiders in our room so that was the only downside. They have two restaurants on site and the internet is non-existent here.

This place was built in 1998 and it feels original when you walk in. The musty smell of clear coat wood and old carpet is great. There is a great feeling of nostalgia. The rooms are uniqiue as they have a separate bedroom from an open living area. There is also a balcony to view the golf course. It's quite the view. The bed was comfortable. The bathrooms definitely need an update and my room didn't have hangers or an iron in it. I had to ask the front desk for one
