The Monroe Country Club has easily become our favorite semi local course. It's about an hour drive out for us but worth the drive 100%. We've always enjoyed the toughness of this course and this weekend was its best for sure!! The rough was extra thick, deep and sometimes unforgiving... the greens were freshly rolled the morning we played and were the fastest we've seen them! Flag locations had a nice variety of difficulty. We come here for the challenge and a challenge is what we got! Honestly I'm no Pro, I shoot an 8 handicap and compared to my local courses, this makes me imagine what a true PGA Pro feels like on the course. We met a gentleman named Craig who surprised us completely. He was driving around the course in a standard cart and checking on everyone. Asking how we're doing, are we having fun, etc. Just the nicest... we had no idea he was the Marshall, we figured he was the club pro or a manager just checking in. Nicest Marshall we've ever dealt with. Some Marshall's worry about nothing but pace of play. Also, to end my story here.. we enjoyed playing 18 holes so much we ended up literally booking a second 18 at the turn for the same day. So we played 36 holes in one day and had a blast doing so. Playing it twice the same day gave us a second set of challenges all together. It was a great memorial weekend.

Great course..well maintained and the staff was very nice. I have already recommended this course to friends and family. We drove from Waukesha, WI to Monroe (1 hr 50 minutes) and we are glad that we did. It was worth the drive.

Beautiful course. Very well maintained. If you don’t, Golf, I highly recommend having something to eat out there. If you love a good Friday night, fish fry, make a reservation and enjoy!

Nice golf course, friendly staff, great bar and clubhouse, will play there again this year.

A above average course in regards to difficulty. I would not recommend to high handicap or beginners if they get frustrated easily. I enjoyed the course and the food was good afterwards. I think that for me the area to improve would be the aroma of the men’s locker room urinal. Uff da! Otherwise, I will try to make it back now that I have a better grasp of the hazards and the nuances of the course.
