Great golf retreat for the boys or large groups! Have been coming for the last 4 years on and we always rent the cottages and play all three courses! Everything was updated a couple years ago and the experience is one of a kind! Only thing they could improve is the food. It’s average at best

We booked this property through Amex expecting a legitimate four-star hotel experience, but what we found was very misleading. When we arrived, there was no actual hotel, just a golf clubhouse where we were checked in and then directed across a parking lot to a small condo building. This is not a hotel. It is essentially a VRBO-style setup being marketed as one. There is no daily housekeeping, no on-site staff available at night, and no 24-hour reception, which is a basic expectation even for a two-star hotel. The advertised amenities like the pool and spa are not even on-site. They require an 8-minute drive. To further illustrate the misleading advertisement, the listing on amex, which the hotel controls, does not include exterior photos of the actual building you will be staying in. Instead, it primarily shows photos of the clubhouse and the lake, which creates a very misleading impression of the accommodations. It feels deliberate, as the real lodging is an awkwardly placed building across a large parking lot with zero lake views. While the unit itself was large and modern, it was noticeably dusty. There was also significant damage to our sliding barn doors. Also the mattresses were quite firm. We encountered other guests who were confused and upset, so this is clearly a common occurrence. The checkout process is done via text, which makes it feel like there is no real opportunity to raise concerns in person. Although the staff we interacted with at check in were friendly, (we wouldn't have the opportunity to interact with anyone else since the condo building is unmanned) the overall setup feels intentionally misleading. Management has to be aware that guests feel misled. We ended up leaving after one night despite booking two, and our request for any form of refund was denied. I note they require 7 nights notice for refund which is far longer than industry standard for hotels. If you are not specifically visiting to golf, there is absolutely no reason to stay here. You can stay on an actual lake for the same price as a real hotel or in a proper VRBO. This is not a four-star hotel. It is a short-term rental being marketed as something it is not.

Just got back from an incredible weekend at Destination Geneva National and already planning our next trip back. The golf courses were in amazing shape, the property was beautiful, and the entire experience felt first class from start to finish. Whether it was the golf, food, accommodations, or atmosphere, everything exceeded expectations. Huge shoutout to Sawyer for helping plan our trip and making sure every detail was dialed in perfectly. His recommendations and coordination made the weekend seamless and stress-free. Couldn’t have asked for a better golf getaway. Highly recommend Destination Geneva National for anyone looking for an unforgettable weekend with friends!

third year we (16 guys) were there for a 4 day golf trip. Rooms in 6 person cottages have become dated. Many items broken or in need of repair in the rooms. Saw some new cottages being built. That's good

The website is very misleading and the fact that they market themselves as a resort is a big stretch. We stayed at The Lodge and everything is very spread out that shuttles are required to get to the other parts of the "resort". The rooms are nicely appointed but it almost seems like they ran out of money to complete the new decor as many things are missing. Housekeeping by request only. The Italian restaurant was rough to say the least. The 1 bartender on a Friday night was doing her best with little support. Our food arrived cold, but we didn't say anything given her efforts. No background music either which was odd. Dirty floors and carpets throughout and no manager presence whatsoever through the weekend. For $400 a night in Wisconsin with a room that faces the parking lot of an old Holiday Inn the overall experience was very underwhelming. You can do better.
