Fantastic course! Big Fish is a blast to play, even in the rain. The layout is unique, with rolling fairways and great scenery that still shine through on a soggy day. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and the course was in great shape despite the weather. Rain or shine, it’s a must-play in Hayward!

Big Fish Golf Club is truly a special place. We’ve been playing this course for about 10 years and this was the best condition it’s been in for many years. The golf course design is terrific. The front nine is an open Links style with many waste bunkers and several “diabolical” Pete Dye bunkers. The back is a whole different story, as it’s carved into the rolling north woods landscape. Each hole is memorable and has a unique challenge, whether it’s a bunker carry off the tee or specific angle into the green on the approach shots. The starter Joel was especially kind as we were getting set up to tee off. He allowed us to sneak off a few minutes early so we could enjoy the round with our little one in the cart. The beverage cart person was very nice to us as we made our way around the course. The managers were also very accommodating as we finished the round. They even offered to help carry our bags to the car so we could hold our toddler. We can’t wait to play the Big Fish again!

Fantastic golf course all the way around! Nice fairways, big quick greens, fun yet challenging course design and beautiful rolling hills. All the staff was friendly and we even had a nice conversation with the course marshal who clearly cared deeply for the course and the enjoyment of the golfers which is nice to see from a golf course! 10/10 would recommend to anybody in the area to come and check out Big Fish Golf Club.

Absolutely incredible course. Big Fish is a true gem in the Northwoods — beautiful, challenging, and perfectly maintained. The front nine has a more traditional parkland style with tree-lined fairways, while the back nine opens up with a classic links feel. Every hole is unique, and the views are stunning, especially in the early morning or late afternoon light. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell they take pride in the course and want every guest to have a great time. Pace of play was smooth, and the clubhouse was clean and well-stocked with snacks and drinks. Whether you’re a serious golfer or just out for a scenic round, Big Fish delivers. I’ll definitely be back — this course is worth every mile of the drive.

Love Big Fish! The staff are outstanding and very polite. The course was in good condition overall with a few bad spots on the greens. Almost expected nowadays with how little rain we have had this year. I was a bit sad that Mulligans was closed on a Sunday, with no cart or anything, but I know it's the end of the season up there. Looking forward to coming back next year.
