Woodview at Mountaineer is the shorter, more accessible companion to the resort’s championship course, designed to be fun and quick without feeling like a throwaway. It’s ideal for newer golfers, mixed-skill groups, or anyone who wants a relaxed round that still includes real shot-making and scoring opportunities. Because the holes are shorter, the emphasis shifts to wedges, accuracy, and putting—distance alone won’t separate players nearly as much. It also works well as a warm-up loop before tackling the bigger course, or as a second round when you want something lighter. If you enjoy executive-style golf that still feels polished and destination-oriented, Woodview is a great add-on.

Rick and team made us feel very welcomed to play the course. The greens are in great shape, with each one providing some putting challenges. The hills, with varying contours, add to making you pay attention to your shot planning and selection. We're considering this course for our family reunion golf outing, even though it's a 50 minute ride from our OH town. Enjoy, should you decide to play it!

June 2026 Course was in outstanding shape from tee to green. It is a great value for the quality and price you pay. Service in the pro-shop and on the course from mtce staff was friendly and cordial. The only negative, and I am being picky, is the condition of some of the carts. Woodview leaves their carts out over night and if playing early they are always soaking wet from rain or dew. This also causes black mold to build on some of the seats. Nobody wants to sit on a mold covered seat for 18 holes of golf. Not all of the carts were as bad as the picture attached, but this issue needs addressed. October 2025 I play Woodview a couple times a year because it is reasonably priced and usually in great shape. I was not disappointed on my recent round. We had the first tee time on a Friday and the pro-shop attendant could not have been nicer. The front nine is a fair bit shorter and easier than the back 9, even more so since several trees separating the #1 and #9 fairways were cut down earlier this year. Make sure you score well on the front 9. The par 5's all play shorter than the posted yardage so you really want to do no worse than par on those holes, and you should have a good chance to birdie those holes.

James from the pro shop was absolutely amazing. His knowledge of the course was incredibly helpful..He gave my group and I an entire run down of what to expect throughout the course. He also showed great hospitality when we arrived and made us feel comfortable on a foreign course.. I absolutely recco
