Historic Black Knight Park is a city of Beckley, WV facility. It is used for classes and training for multiple courses. They host several civic and community events, weddings, and local civic club meetings. They have reopened for a limited lunch menu. If you are a golfer, enjoy the nine-hole course. The public pool is not open.

Been there twice now, one time for the regular service and once for the brunch. Both times the food exceeded my expectations. The salad bar was very fresh, the fried chicken was very tender. The selection of dessert is impressive. I hear the berry cobbler is very good if you are into that sort of thing. They beer selection is decent and they do have a full bar. The pool is nice but initially a bit cold and not super big. As for golf it is reasonably priced. I haven’t golfed there since it went public, but in the past it was poorly maintained, particularly the greens. I was surprised by the volume of business it had when we went there to eat, so maybe things are better.

I can’t believe how gross the pool was. I understand it’s outdoor and near some trees, however there were 3 people working the day we went just sitting around doing nothing, they could have grabbed some nets and started working on the massive piles of leaves in the bottom. If you’re going to charge 5 dollars per person you can’t have ticks and insect eggs everywhere. You’d be better off saving 4 bucks and going to Stephens lake, it’s much cleaner. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because management did refund our money after 15 minutes when we realized it was not up to our standards (which aren’t that high we swim in lakes and outdoor pools often)

Historic black knight Country Club was a wonderful dining experience for lunch. I had these Club special which happened to be lasagna with garlic bread. This was only $5.95! I added the salad bar which was only $2 more. This was extremely cheap for the amount of food and especially the quality. I would highly recommend this dining experience!
