Description

Spring Creek near Charlottesville is widely regarded as one of Virginia’s top public-accessible courses, known for a modern, championship-quality layout and consistently strong conditioning. The course typically features bold shaping, strategic bunkering, and green complexes that reward precise approaches and thoughtful course management. It’s playable for many golfers from the correct tees, but it becomes a serious test when stretched out, especially if the wind is up and greens are firm. The overall presentation often feels semi-private in quality, making it popular for outings and competitive rounds. Overall, Spring Creek is a flagship Central Virginia round—polished, challenging, and built for golfers who want a premium experience.

Spring Creek is one of the best golf courses near Charlottesville. It is very challenging, the course is long, greens are very fast, and every hole is picturesque. It is private so you will have to play with a member but if you get the chance don't pass it up. As of today, May 2nd, 2025, they also have a brand new fleet of Golf Carts which are fantastic! The food is great, and all the fairways, greens, amd bunkers are emmacualety maintained! 5/5 Star course!

We play here once or twice a year, with our member friends, and it's one the best tracks in central Virginia. The clubhouse is very nice with good drinks and food. Always love visiting this course.

Best public golf course I have played in VA. Seriously, the conditioning and attention to detail all throughout the course is far better than most private clubs I have been to - you can really tell the folks at Spring Creek take pride in their course and services. I would gladly play triple digits to play here, so the fact that I have yet to do that once through the three times I have been here thus far still blows my mind... absolutely stellar value for the quality of golf you receive! Now the clubhouse is stunning and sits right off the 18th hole, I recommend trying the restaurant down below the pro shop and spend the evening watching players coming in while dining on the spacious back patio. Also the greens are incredibly quick but run very true.

The most beautiful place to have your wedding!!! My videographer captured the most awesome arial views and Spring Creek is absolutely GORGEOUS!! Very pleasing on the pockets as well. We had the most beautiful ceremony, like a true fairytale. We worked with the most wonderful staff, Michelle McNamara was an absolute GEM. She was so attentive and easy to work with. She literally became family by the time this was all over. I absolutely loved how she truly invested even her own time to make my dream wedding happen. The food is absolutely AWESOME. The Chef made the most delicious food ever!!! The presentation of the food was complete perfection. My guest are still talking about how wonderful the food tasted and was presented. Carl is truly awesome, he and Ana are great staff that are there to make sure you are smiling the entire time. This was my first and will be my only wedding and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Spring Creek...Michelle and Chef ....I truly adore you! Thank you for everything!!!! I would Highly recommend this place for any event without any reservations!

I recently brought my company out to this course for a charity golf tournament and had the worst experience with one of the golf course staff. I didn't catch his last name but his first name was Kevin- middle aged white man. Several of my younger employees do not play golf regularly so they do not own clubs. I have sponsored similar tournaments at other courses over the years and sharing clubs has never been an issue. Kevin said it was club policy for everyone to have their own clubs and I explained to this simple man that we had a set if clubs for each golf cart and we would just share. He proceeded to tell me we couldn't play. I told him I spent thousands of dollars on this one day of golf and we would be playing. He threw a fit and spoke to me in a very condescending way and and one point put his finger on my chest when running his arrogant mouth. At that point we were standing in front of the director of this CHARITY EVENT, and I said we would not be coming back if this is how we would be treated over a simple issue like SHARING CLUBS! Only one person hits the ball at a time so what is the big deal!!! Kevin proceeded to tell me he would be "happy to NOT HAVE MY COMPANY BACK". That means that Kevin cost the Ronald McDonald foundation around $4000 in contributions next year. I really hope the tournament is moved to a new location next year because we will not attend if its at spring creek due to the way Kevin spoke to me and my employees over a trivial issue
