Yorktown is often viewed as the more challenging, championship-leaning course at Williamsburg National, offering a longer and more demanding test with stronger hazard influence. The layout typically asks for more precision off the tee and more disciplined approach placement into greens, especially when the course plays firm. It’s still playable from the right tees, but it rewards committed decision-making more than the Jamestown course. Many golfers like Yorktown as the “step up” round on a trip—more teeth, more pressure, and a more serious scorecard. Overall, Yorktown is the sterner Williamsburg National option: polished, strategic, and built for competitive play.

Bunch of tee boxes under repair so a lot are moved forward. Course layout was nice. Greens were in okay conditions.

We played each of the two courses on back to back days after getting rounds in a charity auction. Both courses were fun but Yorktown was our top. Beautiful tree lined holes, felt very private, many unique holes, well placed traps. The greens on both courses were lightning fast which made them quite challenging. We enjoyed the grass driving range and the ready made food in the clubhouse was decent. The made to order food others were eating looked great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our rounds here!

Here is the best golf course I've ever been to. Stunning, beautiful and everyting you would think it would be-historic course(Jamestown, Yorktown), amazing grounds, good people, friendly and kind staffs. I always enjoy golf here. My feeble attempts to describe this experience make it unbearable to be there. It was a really great experience!! Photos of the course to follow. This is fantastic golf paradise!!!

Nice challenge, greens where in great condition and fast. Plenty of challenge on back 9 on Yorktown course. Highly recommend.

Course is always in great condition, with fast greens. The drop in stars are from them pinching pennies because the fees are too high to have no marshal after 1pm. If I wanted a long miserable round, I would’ve went to Deer Run, but even they have marshals all day I think.
