Heron Ridge in Virginia Beach is known as a well-conditioned, modern daily-fee course that often feels closer to a semi-private experience than a typical public track. The layout tends to emphasize strategic target selection, with hazards and framing that reward committing to lines off the tee. It’s playable for mid-handicaps but can be demanding if you’re loose with the driver, because trouble can creep into landing areas quickly. Greens and surrounds usually decide the score—solid approaches give you chances, but misses can leave tricky recoveries. Overall, it’s one of the stronger public options in the region when you want a polished round with real shot values.

Great employees work there. They are friendly and help you with any questions you have. A professional operation in all respects.

I haven't played here since highschool and it's immaculate. A little tougher than most public courses in Virginia Beach, so hackers beware! No snacks on cart and cash only is ridiculous. Dying of thirst on the course. Thanks for that.

Course was in great shape and very challenging. Priced accordingly in my opinion. 164 for 2 players to play 18 and a cart. Club house was beautiful on the inside. Will definitely come back if we come back to Vabeach

Maybe it was the time of year but for an October round we felt the course was in rough shape. Booking a tee time online was super easy. Staff was friendly too.

Great warm up areas. Friendly staff. Great carts. Discount for locals which is very nice. Course was in great shape minus some areas on the greens. I think the weather has caused some of the issue with the grass on the greens. Overall great course!
