Description

Hell’s Point in Virginia Beach is known for being one of the area’s more demanding public tests, with a layout that emphasizes accuracy and punishes loose driving. The course tends to feature tighter corridors, strategic hazards, and greens that require solid approach placement—so it plays tougher than it might look on a casual first pass. It’s a true ball-striker’s course in the sense that you’re rewarded for controlling the driver and hitting crisp irons, while “spray and pray” rounds can get expensive quickly. The overall vibe is still daily-fee friendly, but the golf itself has a competitive edge that local strong players appreciate. If you’re looking for a Virginia Beach-area round that feels like a challenge from the first tee, Hell’s Point is a go-to.

Very well maintained and marked golf course. Beautiful, scenic views on many of the holes. Challenging enough for beginners but not overly easy for more seasoned vets. Reasonably priced during the week. We will definitely be coming back to play again when we vacation here.

played here on a sunday, there were two cart guys, one older guy who was polite, other one was younger and one of the rudest people I've encountered at a golf course, we didnt know if he was joking or not, made many rude remarks and was not friendly at all, very disrespectful, set the round off horrible. then while we were playing, our pace was fast, older man comes up and gets mad at us for not hitting when there were two gentleman only about 200 yards out, said we cant hit it that far. people in front had 3 open holes in front of them, he confronted us and said nothing to them. tee boxes were straight dirt, trash everywhere, and very over grown even it being march. if you can get a deal to play for under $30, go for it, anything else is way too much. very unfortunate because it used to be great. id strongly avoid.

Let me start by saying, I bought the $99 membership and have played about 12 rounds this year. Unfortunately, I won't be going back. I played a few rounds before and knew the condition of the course before I bought. Now that I have that out of the way. We have played nine during the weeknights several times this year and have never had a problem with our wives riding along. Nor have we had a problem playing our choice of front or back nine. Last night, the gentleman in the pro shop "Mike" wanted to exert his authority for some reason and charge us a rider fee for the wives. He has been there on SEVERAL occasions and never made us pay this. Then, we went to tee off on 10 and he came out yelling at us to go to the first hole. We were literally the only people on the course when we started. He was unprofessional and is probably the reason business has declined on what used to be a phenomenal course in VB. My friends and I (four of us) all payed for the membership, but we won't be back. Don't waste your money as no one there cares about what you think. We were told by staff that the owner has cut staff so much they can hardly take care of the course. It seems ownership is more interested in letting it continue to rundown vice making it a premier course (which it truly could be). Not trying to get anyone in trouble, just would really like to see this course be better than it is.

The courses and staff are nice. Great scenery, to include some local wildlife like bunnies, turtles, geese and even a water moccasin. I am not a great golfer by any means but this course was a great balance of class and approachable.

This could be a nice golf course. It is clearly neglected. Overgrown cart paths, tee boxes with just dirt. Bunkers that had not seen a rake in weeks. AND it was 60 dollars during the week? The starter set the tone. A young man that just seemed to be there for a check. When I asked what golf cart to use, he seemed annoyed and said he would get us one in a minute. When it was our time to start, there was no direction. I had no idea where the first tee was, and he didn't seem too concerned if we had no idea where to go. I have played for 25 years now...this would be a good place for 25 bucks....
