One of the better-kept budget-friendly public courses in the region. 3. Value for Money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Excellent value. Forest Greens continues to be one of the top picks for affordability combined with quality. Great bang for your buck. 4. Clubhouse & Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) The clubhouse is older and service is basic—not bad, just average. Nothing stands out, but it meets expectations for a course in this price range. 5. Pace of Play: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Weekend rounds can vary, but generally the pace is smooth. Slight delays may happen, but it's usually well managed and not frustrating. 6. Practice Facility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) Driving range and putting green are available and decent. No dedicated chipping area, which limits short game practice slightly. While the clubhouse and facilities are modest, the course itself provides a satisfying and challenging round—especially on the back nine. It’s a consistent performer in the budget-friendly category.

What a wonderful course, especially considering it’s a public course with an enormous amount of play. Right now, mid-October, the course is in the best shape I’ve ever seen it. Since the fairways are Bermuda grass, they do thin out in the winter and grow back in the spring, but they’re still playable, and by the middle of June they’re usually excellent. The greens are always exceptional, and they’ve re-done a number of tees with a different type of grass, and from what I’m told they will redo all of the tees. There are no houses on the course, and once you tee off, you begin to wind your way back into the woods (especially on the back nine) and it’s a really nice round of golf.

I arrived at 6:55 AM, checked the website, and it showed the pro shop as open. I walked in, said “good morning,” and the older white man inside immediately started yelling at me to get out because they “weren’t open.” No explanation — just instant hostility. The way he spoke to me was flat-out racist. His tone, his attitude, and the disrespect were directed at me in a way that I do not believe for one second he would use toward a white golfer. It was clear who he thought didn’t belong there. I only got the monthly membership to play with my friends, but after experiencing blatant racism on my first morning, I will not be renewing. This course needs to address the behavior they allow from their staff — because this is unacceptable.

Decent course for the price. The layout is interesting and keeps you guessing throughout the round, however most of the bunkers need work and the rough/fairways are patchy in many spots. Overall if you are golfing on a budget I would recommend coming here to play for a good price.

This is one of the best public courses in the area, especially for the price! Today is the first time I played here this year and the course was in good condition. The greens were in good condition as well.
