I'm glad I ignored the critical reviews. The fairways were in good shape, the staff (starter, check-in, food) were pleasant. The rate was good value. The main issue was the condition of the greens - I presume the weather conditions have made them tough to maintain.

Sycamore is a solid course. It is shorter than average (5700yds from white), still par 70, but still a very playable course. Greens are slow but very playable and in good condition. Your main takeaway should be that they are liberal with bevarages so make sure you have your party pants on.

Hopefully you know a good chiropractor. because riding on a cart here especially the cart path you'll need one. The greens are small and fairways narrow. I was excited to play here cause I thought SC was a top course, but far from it. Not the worse, but fairways are pretty rough. Greens were just aerated so they bumpy but that is to be expected. Very rolling hills, ups and downs all over. Few tees had large mats to hit off of, least 2 par 3's so that was bad, but they had one on a par for, it made no sense. You couldn't put a tee in and you're not hitting a driver off a mat?? Staff was all nice. There wasn't a cart girl or boy, but they had water coolers at most if not all. Saw a Marshall twice, he never interacted, but waved to us. Cart was a little clunky as well, jerked off and the brake would stick trying to take off. It really seemed aged, pretty much everything. The traps were very rocky, some good sized rocks. There were a few pretty holes. Maybe mid season, it will be better, but its hard to see.

Don’t call to make a tee time. They’ll give it to someone else. Then when you show up for your tee time they’ll lie to you and say you called the wrong number. I called the same number in front of the guy and his phone rang. I understand mistakes happen but no apology, no make up offer, no nothing. Just a guy who didn’t want to be there behind the counter. “I don’t know who you talked to, but it wasn’t me” isn’t the appropriate response in this situation. It’s bad enough they want to charge $70 for that dog track of a course, it’s even worse they have shitty customer service that comes with it. Save your time and money. There are nicer courses in the area for the same price.

Course is in great shape and prices are reasonable. Couple things you need to know before you play. It's a lynx style course so you can get Rolling Hills and undulations if you get off the fairway. Also, pace of play can be very slow at this course. You may want to stock up on beverages before you head out, because I don't think they have a beverage cart that goes around the course. The greens and tee boxes also in great shape. They spend all the money on the course. Which is nice but the course is so busy you would think they would have additional revenue for a few small things such as. The clubhouse needs some serious updating, particularly the bathroom. The carts are in need of replacement. As an example they only have two carts that have a rain cover for your golf clubs, and I've literally had the exhaust system fall off of a cart and somebody had to come out and switch it out for me..
