The Woodlands is definitely the better of Hampton’s 2 courses. The course is maintained decently with the exception of the bunkers having extremely poor drainage and being hard as concrete when they are dry. I would definitely recommend for the $30ish green fee with a cart.

Great, challenging course! The greens were in really nice shape. The course had lots of water obstacles and sand traps that made for an exciting game. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the holes were on top of one another and it made navigating the course difficult. All in all, a great day for the price!

Course was in okay shape. It is in a very loud part of town so if you’re looking for a quiet peaceful golf outing this ain’t the place. Course was fun tho and people were friendly. Good budget friendly option in the Hampton roads

Awesome greens, 1917 Donal Ross course. Great group of people that play there. So now if it rains no rain checks. Never heard of this over 40 years of golf.

I called ahead to confirm all the details needed to play golf here, and everything seemed good to go. However, when I arrived, the person at the register told me I couldn’t play because it would “overcrowd” the area. Meanwhile, I watched others being allowed in without issue. The inconsistency in treatment felt unfair, and honestly, it came across as discriminatory. If there were legitimate concerns, they should be applied equally to all guests. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to others looking for a welcoming and inclusive environment. After this horrible customer service, he told me about another golfing place 5 minutes up the road, which turned out to be 20* minutes away in Newport News.
