For $95 dollars, this is by far one of the worse maintained, raggediest golf courses I have ever played. Located in Fairfax, VA, apparently this is the best/ worst the area has to offer. Fairways on 7 and 14 were disgusting and the greens or edge of greens on holes 6, 10, and 14 looked like they had the mange, and totally ridiculous!! Penderbrook should be shaving at least $10 off their fee for not having a driving range. They have a 3 or 4 mats, net cage near the 18th hole and an absolutely Disgusting practice putting green. I just showed up and started playing due to bad practice areas. From what I heard from locals Penderbrook is about the only golf course option in the area so the owners of the course seemingly could care less about presenting a quality golf course, because they are the only option. The ownership should be Embarrassed at the trash they are offering for $95 dollars. Upon complaining, Alan in the pro shop stated, "My confirmation email supposedly had a statement about the course conditions." Unfortunately, I deleted the email and was unable to confirm such statement. This course should be no more than $65 for weekend tee times and $40 for rounds after 12 noon. I have played courses in Maui for cheaper that have ocean and mountain views. Next time I will Uber to Maryland, as suggested by several locals. I suggest you consider the same options as well. The attached photo is just one example of my complaint. Thanks and happy golfing!

Do not play. Worst golf experience of my life. $90+ for unplayable greens. Check out the pictures to see how big of a joke this course is. Oh yeah, and a 5 hour round.

Course was in terrible condition for $90. Was reminded multiple times to stay cart path only, even when geese were hanging out on the path, guess we were supposed to hit them. Seems like the mowers were cutting poorly, and some of the greens had huge burn spots.

Course wasn't bad, greens, tee boxes, fairways and bunkers were all in decent shape for the most part. Reasonable greens fees. Pro shop was sad, very little merchandise, was not greeted or told who I was playing with, if anyone, where to go or asked if I'd been there before. No starter either, I basically just loaded an open cart and teed off, never saw anyone from the staff. Restaurant was also pretty dire, most of the lights were off and limited options. Also no beverage cart out there although there was a water in all of the jugs where they had them. Very slow play, no Marshal and they definitely need one. Decent value, decent course but missing some of the other details.

I was playing in first group mentioned in prior comment. Untrue regarding being behind pace. Were told we were 30 min behind. Tee time 11:30 and hole 13 completed at 2:10. Finished in 4 hrs. I told Marshall that it didn't feel based on that we were behind pace which turned out to be accurate. Spoke to desk staff in clubhouse at end of round and asked to speak to Marshall. Was told based on GPS data we were never behind pace of play. Marshall had already left for day. Desk staff assured me that pace was not an issue. No group behind had caught up or had to wait on any tee. No need for Marshall to get engaged at all based on tee time and place on course. The conversation should have been more about “how are you enjoying the course so far”. Do you need anything as the layout does not allow a clubhouse stop for food or drink without a significant back track. Which by the way doesn't support expected pace pf play. 4 hrs was what I was told. Ridiculous interaction that was not necessary. Bottom line….search a better alternative to spend your hard earned $. It wont be difficult based on what was experienced today and posted by “proclaimed club owner”.
