Description

Pleasant Valley is a Virginia course name that usually signals local, community-oriented golf—approachable, value-friendly, and built for repeat play. Layouts like this tend to emphasize clear targets and manageable hole lengths, making it a comfortable round for a wide range of handicaps. Scoring typically comes from staying disciplined and converting putts rather than overpowering holes. The atmosphere is usually relaxed and welcoming, often serving leagues, seniors, and everyday golfers. Overall, Pleasant Valley fits best as dependable “local golf” that’s straightforward, enjoyable, and easy to play often.

Unfortunately I feel like it’s a must to write this. I only took a couple photos but this course is a dog track. Dead fairways, torn up tee boxes, at least 2 greens are torn up by cicada killer wasps, half the green have massive dead spots. On top of that the pro shop is way over priced and the green fees are $130…. I understand it’s an expensive area but at least have respect for residents in this area to charge a respectable price based on course condition. No one would mind that price if the course was in pristine condition since it has a really good layout. Unfortunately, I came today to try it out to potentially host my annual, 144 person charity golf tournament here. Not only will that not happen but me and my golf group will not be back.

Pleasant Valley Golf Club – A Hidden Gem Reclaimed I had the opportunity to play Pleasant Valley the other day, and I’ll be honest—I wasn’t expecting much. Based on some older reviews, I anticipated average conditions and an average day. But what I found was something completely different. Pleasant Valley is back—and better than ever. From the very first tee box, it was clear the course is being cared for at a high level. The fairways were pristine, greens rolling true and quick, and the rough was lush yet fair—not bumpy or patchy like you'd expect from a typical public course. It honestly felt more like a private track. One highlight? A stunning sunset over one of the par 3s—absolutely Golf Digest cover-worthy. The back nine, with its lush landscaping and almost tropical plant life, gave off serious Florida vibes, which made for a unique and enjoyable round. What made it even better was the great company—but even if you played solo, the course itself delivers. In terms of public courses, Pleasant Valley is punching above its weight. I'd go as far as saying it’s currently the best course on the block. Frankly, it puts Chantilly to shame, especially when you consider the fact that PV is public and Chantilly claims to be private. Final verdict: 5 out of 5. If you haven’t played it lately, it’s time to go back. The outdated reviews don’t reflect the current experience. Pleasant Valley has truly stepped up, and it deserves the recognition.

Can’t say enough positive things about the course. Everything was in excellent condition and greens were immaculate. Loved it. Great course for less than 70$. Quality carts, staff and course. Will play again

Challenging course from the blues. Nice greens but tee boxes could be in better condition (not level). Fairways have some pretty rough patches exactly where you might land for an approach. And at the price ($130) and end of summer / early fall, I would expect much more consistent conditions across the course.

Another great season at Pleasant Valley! The course bounced back beautifully after a wet start to the season—and now the conditions continue to get better every day. Our golf league had a blast - a big shoutout to Edward at the grill—his service is outstanding. The patio area (with new furniture) is always the perfect spot to relax post-round. Finally, the ease of booking tee times and the reminder emails make it so simple to schedule a round golf. Can’t wait for next season!
