Playing golf these days is tough, for a new reason. Courses are crowded, and customer service is way down. Courses don’t need to worry about that when the tee sheets are full. No one tell Poplar Grove this secret! The space between tee times has a little extra room and that makes a huge difference. It’s nice to be able to enjoy the course without watching every shot in the group before you, or feeling pushed from behind. Speaking of enjoying the course, it’s gorgeous and it’s challenging. PG is bragging about its current enhancements, but it seems like they are always making enhancements. That makes it feel like what it is - a club that prioritizes guest experience. The rates aren’t “cheap” but I do think there is value for what you get. You can certainly pay more elsewhere with mixed results. You can also find a less expensive round, and I promise you that will come with sacrifices in either the course, the experience, or both. PG is 1:30 from my house, if the drive was half that would join in a second. Well done!

I've been playing at Poplar Grove since it opened and I've never seen it in better shape than it is today. The amount of work they've put into the course and facilities is mind-blowing. It's always been the best layout in this part of Virginia (thank you Sam Snead), and now the course conditions match the beauty of the layout. I just played a two-day tournament at the PG this past weekend, and also played in a 27-hole tournament in May there. Each time, my entire group was received enthusiastically and treated like gold. It's a great experience, a tough test of golf, and I can't wait to get back.

PG is the nicest course in the area. The course is always in great shape; greens are immaculate. The amenities and staff are top notch. PG’s ongoing investments and improvements show their commitment to continue to raise the bar. I highly recommend a round here if you have not played here before and it’s worth a trip.

Had the pleasure of playing Poplar Grove today and hands down the nicest course in Lynchburg area. Greens rolled true and the views/landscaping around the course were immaculate. Will definitely be going out again soon!!

This has to be a top course in Virginia if not the country… the attention to detail is unmatched and the staff is all A+!
