Description

St. George Golf Club is one of the city's most affordable and accessible options, offering wide fairways and a traditional layout set against a desert backdrop. While less flashy than some nearby courses, it's a consistent, playable muni that delivers dependable rounds and a strong local following.

Go here if you randomly want the sprinklers to turn on and soak you and your clubs…half the fairways are straight up dirt. Sprinklers on full blast during the afternoon. They were reseeding and it was cart path only so get ready to walk…and walk…and walk some more. We were driving through and wanted to play some golf, ended up getting completely soaked halfway through and the sprinklers followed us the whole rest of the day. Always fun trying to tee off and get blasted by sprinklers. Called the manager and he offered us a free round…we said no thanks because we’d rather not get blasted in the face with a sprinkler.

Front desk was easy to work and get us in and out quick. Nice practice putting area. Course was fun and in good condition. Great course for starters but still has some tight fairways to challenge your average golfer. Greens is great shape and have some fun holes with water.

Had the sprinklers going on every single hole. Not like a little mist — I’m talking full fire-hose pressure soaking us like we owed the course money. By hole two, my cart looked like it had been through a car wash, and by hole three, my entire group looked like we’d just finished a triathlon. We weren’t golfing anymore; we were participating in a water sport. The fairways? Absolute junk. Half grass, half dirt, all disappointment. The “rough” should be renamed the “rock garden,” because if you find your ball in there, say goodbye to your clubs — and maybe your ankles. The greens were so wet I was expecting fish to start swimming across them. Every putt came with a splash. I’ve seen dryer conditions in a hurricane. And who in their right mind runs sprinklers while people are playing? Is this a prank? A new “extreme golf” experience? If so, congrats — it worked. It was like golfing through a car wash designed by someone who hates fun. Honestly, this course should’ve been free, or at least handed out ponchos and life jackets at check-in. I’ve never played a course that made me question my life choices this hard. If you ever want to make your friend quit golf forever, take them here. By the back nine, they’ll be listing their clubs on Facebook Marketplace. Hands down the worst course I’ve ever played — and I once played a cow pasture with a flag stuck in a dirt mound. This place somehow made that look like Pebble Beach.

I’ve golfed all over Utah and have never experienced the kind of rudeness I did from the man running the front desk at St. George Golf Club. From the start, his attitude was unnecessarily unpleasant, especially when he began griping about two people sharing a single set of clubs. As if every golfer must bring their own full set to ride together — completely unreasonable and unlike any other course I’ve played. To make matters worse, the course itself is in terrible condition. Fairways are poorly maintained, greens are patchy, and overall it feels neglected. On top of that, there were teenagers literally fishing in the water hazards right in front of tee boxes, forcing golfers to stop and ask them to move before hitting. We also saw random people walking their kids around greens like it was a public park. Between the unprofessional staff and the lack of course management, it’s clear this place has gone downhill. There are far better and friendlier options in the St. George area — I’d recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Easily the worst course I’ve ever stepped foot on. Got blasted by sprinklers on every single tee box at 1:00. Save you money and go somewhere else. Asked for a refund after we couldn’t even tee off at most the tee boxes and leaving drenched. Pro wouldn’t give us a refund. Feel like we got scammed.
