Hands down the worst experience I’ve had at any Houston golf course. I booked a tee time for 2 golfers on the GolfNow app. When I arrived, the staff insisted I had booked for 4, even after I showed them my confirmation clearly showing it was for 2. The starter told me he “doesn’t care about the app,” insisted it was booked for 4 anyway, and warned that I’d be charged fully next time if this “happened again.” Not exactly a welcoming start, but we continued on. Then the carts… After hole #2, our cart started shutting off repeatedly. It took us more than 10 minutes just to reach hole #3. We called the pro shop and they quickly brought us a replacement—something I appreciated—but that cart only made it to hole #6 before doing the exact same thing. Constantly stopping and starting, making it impossible to play. Frustrated, we spent 25 minutes limping the cart back to the pro shop to request a refund. The front desk said they could only offer a rain check, which is pointless because I have no intention of coming back, and they told me to contact the manager for a refund. I reached out—never heard back. On my way out, I spoke with the employee who brought the replacement cart. He mentioned that many of their carts are in bad shape, which explains the whole experience. Overall, the combination of rude service from the starter (every other employee we interacted with was great), broken equipment, and zero follow-up made this visit completely unacceptable. I won’t be returning.

Greatwood Golf Club offers a decent golf experience. The staff are friendly, and the course is challenging. Shot placement and smart club selection really matter here, with plenty of water and homes bordering almost every hole. The greens and fairways are generally in good condition as well. That said, the pace of play can be slow. Rounds often run 4.5 to 5 hours, and there’s typically no course marshal on duty to help keep things moving. If slow play affects your enjoyment, avoid this course. Beverage cart service can also be hit or miss. With its higher slope and course rating, Greatwood attracts a wide range of golfers, which can contribute to longer rounds. Overall, it’s a decent course, just be prepared for slow play and many below average golfers on the course.

Greatwood Golf Club Overall, it wasn’t bad could definitely be better. The course layout was nice, but the driving range needs some attention, with quite a bit of dead grass throughout. Still a decent spot to get a round in if you’re in the area.

Tried to play a round here as a foursome. The pace of play isn't managed at all. We managed 9 holes in 3 hours 15min being held up by a group that wouldn't let us play through or pick up the pace. Despite asking the Marshalls to help us out they never even spoke to the group in front of us. I guess it's a fine course if you wanna spend over 6 hours to finish a round.

Played on December 27 morning. Course layout is one of my favorites here in greater Houston area. Conditions, especially the greens are in great shape. Pace of play was terrible, it took 5 hours to complete the round. That's why I gave it a 3 star rating. Marshall was nowhere to be seen.
