A couple points for the review: A. Amenities for price - speaking only on amenities if you compare any course in SA thats over $100 this is the only one where: the carts don't have GPS, no sand in the carts, no waters or ice coolers, no bathrooms on the course, no tees or towels in carts, no marshalls regulating starts or pace of play, no person at club drop-off or someone wipping down your clubs when your done, (Carts are also in terrible shape). 3 other courses in SA are over $100 and they all provide everything mentioned above. B. Course conditions - greens and tee boxes are awful, fairways only feel better because of the conditions of the greens. Bunkers are along the same lines as the greens. They also wont mention the conditions of the course, just expect you to pay over $100 and leave them as a surpise once your out there. C. Staff - Not friendly, older gentleman at the check-in doesn't seem to believe hospitality is part of his job. Brings snacks because you wont see the cart girls often. D. Value - there is a reason the reviews of the course are so low. It is actually the lowest rated golf course in San Antonio, yet it is the 4th most expensive course in the city. If you want to spend over $100 go to - the quarry, canyon springs or la cantera (all have actual value for your money). They have actually posted videos on their social acknowledging the bad shape of the greens yet will not adjust the prices until they have a product they can stand behind. Value is probably the worst in SA. For the conditions go play a city course, will be in better shape and save on your wallet or play one of the three courses mentioned above so that you will get value for your money.

Great experience starting with all the nice staff. First time there we loved the course and the scenery. Then two beer and refreshment carts out on the course and very good food back at the club house.

Used to be one of my favorite golf courses in town. You can’t increase prices while simultaneously lowering the quality of the course. This wasn’t even the worst green. Some of them were 80% sand. I’ve seen significantly better quality from most of the municipal courses in town. Don’t waste your money.

Silverhorn is a solid choice for a round in San Antonio if you’re looking for a great layout at a fair price. The course design itself is challenging and fun, keeping you engaged from the first tee to the 18th green. The highlight for me was definitely the wildlife; seeing deer and turtles throughout the round added a nice touch of nature to the experience. That said, the course is currently in need of some TLC. If the maintenance team could tighten up the fairways and greens, this would easily be a top-tier spot. Overall, it's a good value for a public course, provided you aren't expecting country club conditions.

I know April is early in the season. But no course should ever be charging $113 to play 18 with tee boxes and greens in such bad conditions. Half the holes you are putting on straight sand. On top of cheap broken carts (death wobble and reverse didn't work) I'll never be coming back, there's so many nicer courses for half the price.
