Oldest golf course in Texas. Great layout and course was is very good shape. No complaints on my end. All the personnel was over the top friendly. I will definitely go back. This is a must play! Highly recommended!

Wow! Amazing service! Seemed like valet royalty treatment when I first arrived the golf cart was brought to me in the parking lot! When I was finished the valet golf cart guy picked up the cart from me at the parking lot! Wow! The course is awesome too! Challenging course and fun! A few signs missing at tee box and carts great!

Played Brackenridge Thursday afternoon. Great experience with clubhouse staff, cart staff and special thank you to Tessa beverage attendant who adds a very considerate personality to the round of golf. Great hospitality staff and was in very nice shape. Well done

Played Brackenridge Golf Course yesterday, and other than some patchy greens, the course was in immaculate shape. Tee boxes, fairways, and greensides all plush. Recent rains have definitely aided in maintaining the turf. The staff, courteous and prompt as always. Looking forward to going back soon!

Check in was simple and quick as was making the reservation. Pace of play was excellent, we only waited on the first hole and maybe 1/2 other times. We had a foursome with three walking but the group behind us never caught us. The course is in decent shape for early spring with no rain. There were a few bare spots around the course (mostly from where carts had been driving, but they were at least putting some barriers to direct carts off these areas. The further off the fairway you got the worse the lie....but that is to be expected right. It's not a long course tipping out at 6243 yards but it will get your attention, especially on the closing 5 holes with water in play on four of those. The only "gripe" to speak of is the speed of the greens. The greens look bigger than they actually are with many of them mown into squares, or rectangle variations/orientations of the letter L. They roll very true however they are SLOW...not as slow as some of the other San Antonio public courses I've played in the past but they could be sped up for sure. The pro shop attendant said because of the type of grass they can't keep them cut low enough to get a decent speed on them. This course could REALLY get your attention if the speed of the greens were fast enough to take advantage of some of the subtle breaks....plus if the fringe could be mown lower then you'd really have to be accurate on your approach shots to get them to hold. All in all it's a great course at a very reasonable price for a mid week round.
