Course is in decent condition. Greens are hard but roll ok. They just aerated the fairways and put the droppings along the rough. Pretty long course btw. Only issue is i like a decent pace of play. Problem is had we had a slow group ahead of us. The Marshall said they will allow us to play thru. So we asked after we waited every shot for the next 3 holes and they said they'd pick up the pace. They did not. 4 hrs and 40 minutes later we finished our round. On a Thursday. Ugh.

Best greens I've played on this year in DFW, PHX and LV. Someone at this course knows what they're doing, every hole was consistent in feel...but that didn't make putting any easier. Course was kinda soupy in spots, including some of the tee boxes, but a good value for the money overall. I enjoyed the layout, staff was friendly.

The course itself was fun and a nice challenging layout with well kept greens. The staff was not even the slightest bit friendly on a Wednesday afternoon. The smell from the Hinton landfill (right next door) was almost bearable most of the time. Plenty of other courses in the area so we won’t be back to this one.

Decided to be brutally honest, hopefully taken as such. First, the course is owned by the city of Rowlett but managed by American Golf Corporation. The latter, for those who have been around for a while, seem to have a history of destroying golf clubs/courses. We used to consider Waterview our home course when it opened - absolutely spectacular bent grass greens, fairways and rest of the course was immaculate. It got really hard to book times, and it was packed with tournaments. Until .. it completely fell apart and wasn’t worth the short drive from nearby Rockwall and Wylie. Greens overtaken by weeds - in some cases we just picked up if we didn’t make the first putt and moved on. No water on fairways left them thin, hard and just really bad. It has been 4-5 years since we played out there, until Sunday. Good news … the new Bermuda (some hybrid of sorts) greens were again spectacular - and lightning fast! Great job to the Superintendent!!! But, the rest of the course was still worthless and virtually the same as before. Worse, get off the cart path, headed further away from the fairway or to the fairway, and you need one of those semi-truck driver seats that has shocks and cushions to absorb all of the bumps. Fairways weren’t much better. Most tee boxes were 80% void of grass, apparently nobody fixes divots. Pro Shop is basic. Never made it back to the grill. Cartgirl didn’t get out there until almost 11:00am, and had all kinds of excuses and complaints. I know this isn’t a very good review, and it only got 2 stars because of the greens. But I miss the original Waterview - fun, challenging, great greens, always in fabulous condition, fun people and right between our homes. I hope the Advisory Board takes notice, and the city pumps more money back into the course - and the contract with AGC is ending. In the end, it’s not worth $70-75 on the weekend, and even less when you can drive somewhere fairly close, pay $15-20 more and get great conditions from tee thru the green along with fun people!

Greens are always in top tier condition. They always keep the course in great shape. Practice greens are no different. Great place to practice your short game. Many of you guys need it more than others
