I stopped by Shadow Hills Golf Course to see if they had any available tee times since they don’t offer online tee-time booking. I also understand and respect their policy of not allowing singles to play alone, and I was perfectly happy to be paired with another group. Unfortunately, the customer service I received was enough to make me leave without booking a round. When I walked into the pro shop, the employee was sitting with his feet up eating a Pop-Tart. I asked if there were any tee times available that day, and he replied that they had a tournament. I then asked what the earliest available time might be, and he casually glanced at a sheet of paper and said, “Probably not until around 2:00.” I then asked about availability for the following day. Instead of simply checking the tee sheet, he got up, started walking toward it, and said, “I really shouldn’t be giving out tee times.” I asked, “Then how am I supposed to find out what tee times are available?” He replied, “You just need to come in.” I responded, “Well, I’m here now.” That exchange made no sense since I was already standing in front of him. At that point, I realized I was dealing with someone who simply didn’t want to help. The interaction felt dismissive, rude, and unprofessional from start to finish. As a potential paying customer, I shouldn’t feel like I’m inconveniencing the staff by asking basic questions about tee-time availability. There are other golf courses in the Lubbock area that appreciate their customers and provide friendly service. Based on this experience, I’ll spend my money elsewhere

Very disappointing golf course starting with the staff. Called multiple times to schedule a tee time and no answer ever. I have added a screenshot photo of my call history trying to get a hold of the course. Had to drive to the course to book the tee time. There are several other reviews in here with the same issue. Play golf today at the golf course for the first time and inquired about the reason for not being able to book single player tee times and the punk kid I don't really know I don't think about it. And then said it's just a weird way to do business like you would lose a lot of business and he said nope we don't lose any business he makes a ton of money and he doesn't care, (I don't know who "he" is that he's referring to). I didn't like his attitude so I said it's kind of a crappy way to run a business I would never run my business that way and the kid just paused and shook his head like a jerk like I was saying something out of line. He then said something under his breath that me and my friend couldn't hear. He grabbed the small bucket of balls from the machine and just set it on the ground and said there you go. That was a great start to the day. It had rained pretty heavily the night before and somehow someway the course seemed very firm almost like it had never been watered before or the grass was growing on concrete. There is no ball wash anywhere on the course, there is no staff that actually greets you with the cart and fast forwarding a little bit when we dropped off the cart didn't say anything at all to us. Thinking back, there was no pencil for the scorecard and the cart was not cleared well, old trash in both the driver and passenger side compartments. The greens head many many ball marks at our tee time time was at 7:50 a.m. When we made the turn we went inside to grab some food. The girl at the snack stand did not seem interested in helping us at all. Her selling tactic when we asked what food they have was the only thing we're going to have is hot dogs and some rapped sausages I think. She was not friendly and we were disrupting her day I guess by asking her to do her job. I would not recommend playing golf at Shadow Hills if you can avoid it. All that being said I shot a 79. That should have been the highlight of my day but it was overshadowed by pure disappointment in the golf course and the staff.

Dumbest rule ever. In from out of town and wanted to get a round in. Called and was told no singles allowed but if I came up they could try and pair me up. I’m thinking they’re busy. Get up there it is dead and I’m told there is an hour wait for a group that I can go out with. I completely understand no singles when it’s busy. But you’d rather lose $ on a slow day. I e played at least 100 courses all over the country and this is the only one I’ve ever seen this. I’ll be in town for a few months but I refuse to ever play here. I’ll go To a simulator first.

Overall decent bang for your buck to get practice in. However, the pro shop staff have changed from years past. They often do not greet you at all and when you ask for a range bucket, they simply take your money and pass the bucket. No words spoken whatsoever. Seems like a bit of poor customer service. Grass on the range is sometimes poorly maintained so definitely keep that in mind.

The course is in horrible shape. It looks like they are doing no maintenance but charging more than the courses that are doing maintenance. The tee boxes and fairways are nothing but sand with not even dormant grass. This course was much better in the past but they have let it go and ruined a good layout.
