Meadowbrook has made some huge improvements over the last year. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was great, and the course conditions keep getting better every time I play. It’s quickly become my go-to spot for golf in Lubbock

Greens are mint, fast and challenging. Tee boxes were OK. Fairways are narrow, and will punish bad shots. Saw the cart girl plenty of times on a Saturday and finished under 4:30. Not half bad for what I paid for. Haven’t played a Muni course in a while, and it was my first time in Lubbock. Pleasantly surprised with Meadowbrook, would play again when I’m in town.

This place has come a long way. I had heard it used to be in rough shape, but I moved here about a year ago and have been very impressed with the improvements. The new management has clearly put a lot of work into the property. The clubhouse has been updated, the driving range is open and looks great, the food is excellent, the carts are new, and they consistently have cart staff out on the course. The course itself is in very good shape and continues to improve. In my opinion, this course and Rawls are the only two public courses in Lubbock that I genuinely enjoy playing. Great job by the management team for turning this place around and continuing to make it better.

Meadowbrook Golf Course in Lubbock is easily the most poorly run golf experiences you can find in Texas. First off, they absolutely cram the course with people. It is not just busy, it is borderline unplayable. You are waiting 15 to 20 minutes on almost every single shot. Golf is supposed to be relaxing, not a five hour test of patience where you spend more time standing around than actually playing. The pro shop does not make it any better. The staff comes off rude, unhelpful, and clearly more focused on squeezing as much money out of you as possible than actually providing any kind of decent service. It feels like you are being upsold the second you walk in. Then there is the course itself. The pictures online must be heavily edited because what you get in real life is a complete letdown. Instead of decent fairways, you are hitting off what feels like a mix of dirt, sand, and gravel. Calling it a golf course is generous. It looks neglected and barely maintained. On top of that, the people they let out there make the experience even worse. It is packed with players who clearly have no idea how to play, holding up the entire course, and bringing kids along who should not be learning on a crowded course. That is what a driving range is for. Instead, everyone else pays the price with even slower rounds and constant backups. And somehow, they charge $45 for a round now, which is wild considering it used to be fairly priced. For what you get, it is nowhere near worth it. Even worse, they will charge $25 just for someone to spectate, which is absolutely ridiculous, especially when they claim they ran out of carts. You are paying extra just to stand there while the course is already a disaster. Overall, it is overpriced, overcrowded, poorly maintained, and badly managed. There are far better places to play than wasting your time and money here.

Booked a tee time online for 1 player on Saturday 03/28 and when I arrived I told them my wife would be riding in the cart with me and I would need to pay a rider fee. The guy checking me in said that “only 2 carts per tee time and two players will be sharing a cart”. I have never heard of that before and quite frankly think that is ridiculous. They also said “on the weekends there are no spectators and it was their policy”. I have played here several times before and have never had an issue but I guess things have changed. They did offer me a rain check which I appreciated but just wanted to leave a review so other people know in advance!
