Played last week. I do not play here that often but steadily over the past 10 years. I keep coming back because of the layout and the quality of the grounds. But a round here nearly always takes 4.5 hours plus. That’s just the way it is, I expect it and don’t let it affect my day on the course. Last week was 4 hrs 45 mins, cart path only. Word of advice. Don’t be obsessed with thick roughs. Cut them down enough to find your ball more easily. We spent too much time looking for each others balls which were usually not that far off the fairway. It’s a muni folks. If you haven’t been here, definitely worth a try.

Course is great but they don't want someone like me playing it. I'm a senior that likes walking but I can't do this in 4 hrs & that is what I was told by the Marshall was the expectation. 2 of us were walking today & rather than hold up other players we let a couple of groups go thru. When we approached the 9th green the Marshall told we needed to speed up. Said someone had called in about our pace.. I don't believe in a heartbeat this happened. He wa wrong about our pace too. Marshall's should make the round more enjoyable rather than what we experienced.

Course itself is 3/5 but management might make it the worst course in the area. 15 min to get a sandwich, greens as bumpy as a school zone, best part was when we had a rider and they don’t allow to pay for a 3rd cart. Never heard a course not allow for that, especially when you pay, it says “includes cart”. We left after 14 holes because we were already well past a 4 hour round. Maybe worry more about pace of play next time- they’ll lock up their carts like Fort Knox but you’ll never see a ranger out there after. So they just want to take your money and wipe their hands from everything else.

Bay Forest Golf Course offers a well-maintained layout with lush fairways, smooth greens, and a relaxing natural setting. Relaxing Solo Round – Great Afternoon! Walked on solo around 2 PM while in the area for work and finished by 4:45 PM riding. The groups ahead were kind enough to let me play through, making for a smooth and enjoyable pace. Course was in good shape overall — I’d give it a solid 7/10, greens good condition. One hole was under repair, but they adjusted it to a short par 3, which worked fine. Layout is challenging in a fun way, with water hazards on multiple holes and a few nice elevation changes that keep things interesting. They do have a driving range, but I didn’t have time before or after my round. The grill was reasonably priced, which was a pleasant bonus. Overall for the price, a great experience — I’d definitely return if I’m back in the area.
