Rockwood is an excellent municipal golf course. In great condition right now. Best in Fort Worth.

This golf course is very nice overall, but the holes are close to each other, which can feel a bit unsafe. My ball (a Titleist Pro V1 with a blue line drawn on it) was sitting in front of another hole’s green. I checked it carefully and then hit it. After that, a very emotional player approached me aggressively, insisting that he saw his friend’s ball roll there and that the ball I hit belonged to his friend. He began yelling and using extremely offensive language toward me. I calmly picked up my ball and showed it to him right in front of his eyes, explaining that it was mine. Despite that, he continued to deny it and kept swearing before walking back to his friends. Unfortunately, some high-handicap players do not mark their golf balls, and it seemed he simply did not understand that basic concept. Because of that incident, I experienced a sense of trauma. I heard swearing words that I had never heard in my entire life. However, I choose to forgive him. Ignorance is not a crime, but respect is a choice.. I still believe that 99.9% of people in this world are good people like the grandfather and his grandson whom I met that same day and had the pleasure of playing with for the first time. I would like to make one request. Since some holes on this course are close together and balls can easily roll into adjacent fairways or greens, please mark your golf balls clearly. And let us all show consideration and respect toward one another. I hope we all remember that golf is a game of etiquette and respect.

Rockwood Golf Course in Fort Worth is an absolute gem. The course layout is both fun and challenging, with just the right mix of holes to keep you thinking without being overly punishing. The greens were in great shape, rolled true, and the fairways were well maintained, especially for a public course. What really stood out was the overall atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the pace of play was solid, which made for a really enjoyable round. You can tell they take pride in keeping the course in good condition. Bonus point—the food is legit. Their sandwiches on the menu can all be turned into wraps, and the chicken wrap with tots is fire. Whether you’re out there trying to score or just enjoy a round with friends, Rockwood is a great spot to tee it up. Definitely one of the better public courses in the Fort Worth area and I’ll absolutely be back.

Course was in great condition for mid summer. The lady's in the pro shop were great. The first tee was a little backed up for a Wednesday at 3pm which made a slower round overall. Both times I've played here the temp was over 100. Miserably hot😳😳. I am looking forward to playing this course in the fall. The renovations they put in this course are wonderful. Highly recommend play at the new Rockwood Golf Course. Can't wait to be back.

Played yesterday for the first time at Rockwood… After reading the previous reviews I was a little concerned, they were saying that the staff was extremely rude in that the condition of the course was pretty rough… I actually found it to be completely. The opposite for staff was very helpful and friendly and the course was in excellent shape… A few minor issues on the edge of a green or two, but that was all. This is a jam of a course built in 1938 and it still has some of the original bridges and tables Which is extremely cool. I would definitely recommend giving it a shot. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
