Had the opportunity to play the course today. Not sure what some of the other reviews have seen, fairways lush and the greens were running true and somewhat fast. From my point of view and pics...the course was in very good condition. Has spots with challenging wide open fairways to blind shots to tee shots that force you to Plat a draw over water as the perfect shot. Our only disappointment was the grill is not open on Sundays. The only other regret, they should have sand on the range so divots can be filled. Otherwise..I thought it was a neat course and will go back.

Played the course for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it! Very challenging but the elevation changes and views are worth it. The layout requires accuracy on your shots but all in all it is a very fair course. Fairways and greens were in good shape considering the hot days and lack of rain the last couple of months. A couple of tee boxes could use some work though. I will definitely play this course again and am strongly considering making it my “home” course.

If you want an interesting course to have a fun time at this is your place. If you want to be able to read and hit a straight putt this is not your place. Really cool holes that have elevation and blind shots. The greens are brutal and not maintained at all. Grab a 12 pack, let the old gas cart rip down the hills and pay the $45 for a solid day!

Our group had a very disappointing experience during our recent round. We had a 6:57am tee time as a foursome, and by 8:30am we were on hole 7—well on pace for a 4-hour round. All four of us had just tee’d off when the Director of Operations, Melvin, pulled up and told us they had received complaints that our pace of play was too slow. He instructed us to finish the current hole, then wait and let the group behind us play through, then we could play again, then let the next group play through on the following hole, and so on. Essentially, we were told to alternate holes with every group behind us for the rest of the round. That is an unreasonable and unrealistic ask for any group, especially one pacing a standard 4-hour round. I respectfully asked Melvin what the expected pace of play was, and he told me 10 minutes per hole for a foursome. I didn’t argue in the moment, but anyone who plays golf knows how absurd that demand is for casual players. We did not follow his instruction because when we finished hole 7, the group behind us still hadn’t even tee’d off—there was no backup whatsoever. We finished hole 9 at 9:00am, exactly on pace for a 4-hour round, and went to the pro shop for clarification. Rick, who was working the counter, confirmed we were playing exactly at the expected pace and told us to keep doing what we were doing. The mixed messaging was extremely confusing, especially after being rushed earlier for no valid reason. We played the rest of the round without issue—no groups caught up to us or asked us to move faster—and we finished at 11:00am, exactly a 4-hour round. What made this even more frustrating is that I was playing with another Marine Corps veteran who suffers from severe PTSD. The way Melvin approached and rushed our group with unrealistic expectations triggered him and completely ruined his round. This was his first time playing the course, and he told me he will never return. As someone who lives five minutes away and plays here often, this saddens me. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, and I’m now more inclined to drive to Lancaster than risk another situation like this. After the round, I spoke with Rick again and shared our frustration. I understand the staff has a job to do, but if other groups are complaining about pace of play, it would be far more appropriate to inform them that the group ahead is playing at the expected pace rather than scolding the group that is on schedule. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. This could have been a great experience, but the interaction with Melvin made it unnecessarily stressful and left a very negative impression—especially for a first-time guest who deserved better.
