Buckhorn has a lot going for it. It's fun and playable, and it's very well maintained. It is also very forgiving in general. From a playability perspective, this is a very good value. The reason for 3 stars is the pace of play is absurd. ~5 hours for a round is common, and we have had to wait 15 min on tee boxes which obviously impacts your round. Everyone is friendly, but there really isn't anyone pushing the pace of play so it becomes much less fun than it should be

Anyone looking to play a round near the San Antonio area, give The Buckhorn a chance. They’ve perfected in their own way of how to be accommodating. I spoke to the General Manager on our weather delay and he was more than helpful. This course and its employees have not forgotten what keeps them employed…..which is the great service and a great course that will keep golfers coming back. My only complaint is I live 6 hours away. This course is a must play!

This is a great public course. I highly recommend pls this course. The fairways are great and the rough is just as good as the fairways. There’s no bad spots on the fairways or greens. The greens are fast with a lot brake on the putts. If you visit Fredericksburg which is what I was doing for vacation. It’s a short trip down to Comfort. Well worth the drive..

We had a fabulous time playing 9 holes Monday, 4-13! The course is very well maintained and fun to play! All staff members were friendly and professional. We’d play here again if ever in town.

We had a great morning round at the Buckhorn! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming the moment we walked in the door. The marshal did me a solid and found one of golf balls that I was sure I’d lost for good. The greens and fairways were extremely well kept. We’ll be back to play another round soon!
