The fairways aren’t as wide as those on other courses, but with bunkers and water hazards on every hole, this was a course I had always wanted to challenge myself on. It’s well maintained, and the food is also delicious.

How far has this club gone downhill over the past few years, particularly this year in the eyes of this longtime member? Here’s a few ways: Going to 7.5 minute tee times this year. Fivesomes. 4.5 hour or longer rounds on the weekends. The course getting overplayed and conditions suffering because of that. Less maintenance so bare spots in the fairways, greenside washouts, no sand at the bottom of a bunker, and walking bridges “fixed” just enough to cause a trip and fall lawsuit. Same guys getting the morning tee times every weekend. Too many tournaments in the good weather months. A range that floods out with little rain despite a recent renovation. Range balls with no dimples. And management that responds to Google reviews but not to member concerns. This is now a public course experience under the guise of a private club.

want to sincerely thank this course and everyone involved for hosting the Gunny R. Lee Ermey Memorial Golf Classic on May 11th. The event was extremely well organized, the staff was outstanding, and the course itself was in fantastic condition from tee box to green. You could tell a great deal of effort and pride went into making the tournament a success, and it created an atmosphere that was both enjoyable and meaningful. It was a great way to honor Gunny’s legacy while bringing people together for an incredible day of golf and camaraderie. First-class experience all around. Highly recommend both the course and any future events hosted here!
