Great place. Played here on a Tuesday. $50 or something. Clubhouse is small and no cart girl but free waters and new golf carts. Course was in great shape. Wide fairways and good green. Little over watered but it’s 100+ outside. Downfall is the people that play there. It’s public so nobody racks bunkers, nobody fixes divots, nobody lets people play through. Need marshals to help this. Btw if you are the two college age kids playing on Tuesday Aug 4th at 3pm, yall suck at golf and let singles play through. Especially since I watched yall 3 putt 4 greens in a row.

I missed the left turn into Diamondback, GPS was a little bit confused. I booked at 350p tee time on Friday and drove from Weatherford after work. The gentlemen in the Pro Shop got me setup and I got started a little early. The course was awesome. Great layout, challenging, greens were good. Overall 10/10 experience here at Diamondback National. They even let me walk an additional nine holes. No beverage cart, but I always bring my own powerade and water. It was very peaceful to take in the views and play a little golf. Come play Diamondback National!

Played here July 31. Course is in excellent condition. The range is a real pleasure to hit balls. The grass here is plush and green. No need for a tee on par 3’s the ball sits up nicely. Greens are good would be nice if people could fix their ball marks. The carts are in great shape. Couple of the bridges could use replacing. Other than that I would have to say this is in my top 5 public courses in Texas that I have personally played.

My son played a junior golf tournament at Live Oak. I was incredibly impressed with the course. It’s in excellent condition, the facilities are nice and super clean, and the food options were great. We’ve been to a lot of courses across West Texas and this is one of the best if not the best. We especially appreciated that the carts were clean and featured digital maps. We also liked that the course had lots of yardage markers. Live Oak is true gem for Abilene! Thanks Live Oak for sharing your love of the game with our junior golfers!

My personal favorite, even though it's public. Quality of fairways/greens/tee box's is excellent. Driving range is grass with nice balls, great practice area, and nice carts with course mapping. Pro-shop is clean and staff is very nice. Lastly, the track is just perfect, with each hole being unique without trying too hard. Live Oak doesn't try and be anything other than a great golf course in west Texas.
