I call this my "home" course because I live about 15 mins away. Its where I honed in my skills as beginner amd learned how to cpurse manage and club selection. Lots of wide open fairways and straight forward holes. Perfect for a beginner player. Water comes into play a couple times, the most being on hole 7 to the right and to the right on hole 13. The greens are fast but roll well. Hole 13 is very pretty with the mountain range in the background and river to the right. Good pace of play during the week, friendly staff, good beer and beverage options, and a pretty good chicken salad sandwich. Fair prices and a fun experience.

We had a fun quick morning round here before our show day. Close to downtown Chattanooga, budget friendly and an exceptionally welcoming staff made this a great stop on our #golfjam tour. We look forward to visiting again.

Decent municipal course with beautiful views of the mountains, wide open fairways, very walkable and good greens. I paid $23.50 to walk on a Wednesday morning and was paired up with two locals who rode.. we managed to get around 18 in just under four hours. I sandwiched this course between a couple of country club visits as I am considering relocating to Chattanooga in the future. While the conditioning on the two private courses was much nicer, Moccasin Bend was very appropriate for the price, and I would certainly include this one in my playing rotation. I did hear from some locals that it gets pretty crowded and slow in the afternoon and on weekends, and I noticed the parking lot was jam packed as I was packing up my clubs.

Fun course, wide open, scorable. Our Monteagle foursome played it for the first time, white tees, 6000 yards, group only lost a couple balls, played in 4 hours...Only issue are the sand traps, not maintained, unraked hard pan. This seems typical of many public courses, why not have fewer bunkers and maintain them?

For a city owned public course, this is an excellent course. For a very reasonable WE rate with cart under $50, it is very picturesque with views of Lookout Mountain. Course grounds maynot be as great as a high price course, but was maybe the best city owned course I played.
