Brainerd Golf Course offers a spontaneous golfing opportunity, accommodating even last-minute players. The charm of this municipal course includes a par 3 along a bustling road, adding a touch of classic muni character. Despite the exceptionally dry conditions, the staff maintains a friendly atmosphere. The rented clubs may have seemed like relics from a '90s yard sale, but surprisingly, they held up well, allowing for straight shots and an enjoyable round without losing a single ball.

What a fun public course. I played with a group of friends. Course was in average shape and the greens were fast and in good shape. Not a long course from the tips. 6450 yards....but risk and reward. I'd recommend to play. Pro shop small but equipped well and staff was very friendly. Paid 78 for 2 people 18 holes with a cart on the weekend. Great Value

Terrible experience. I’ve been a customer of Brainerd Golf Course for many years and have brought family and friends here several times. I’ve always respected the posted pace-of-play timestamps that the course itself provides. During our most recent visit, our group of four started our tee time **exactly on time** and followed the pace guidelines on the scorecard. However, a staff member approached us and told us we were “playing too slow” because the group ahead of us (a group of two) was one hole ahead. Naturally, a group of four will play a bit slower than a group of two, which should be expected on any golf course. To make matters worse, the group behind us that complained actually arrived **six minutes early to their tee time**, yet we were the ones being pressured. When we reached the third hole, staff approached us again and told us that because we were “playing slower than other golfers,” we would be **cut off after nine holes**, even though we had already paid to play 18. This made no sense, especially since we were following the course’s own posted timestamps. Being stopped multiple times during a round for simply not playing at the speed of smaller groups was frustrating and unnecessary. What should have been an enjoyable round of golf turned into a stressful experience. We decided not to continue playing and instead returned to the clubhouse to request a refund. After receiving the refund, we were surprisingly told that we were **not allowed to return to the course**, with no clear explanation given. It’s disappointing to see a place we’ve supported for years treat customers this way. Unfortunately, after this experience, none of our family or friends will be returning. I encourage others to do the same.

Course layout is incredible. Unfortunately, course conditions were less than ideal. There were so active improvement projects going on, and it definitely has the bones to be a good course. However, the greens and bunkers were in great shape, especially for a public municipal course. For the price, the value is not terrible.

Was on a golf trip with my buddies and our tee time was cancelled due to weather so we had to make a last minute change. Then we found this hidden gem! Most courses were closed, but not this place! We were taken care of by Barb who was very hospitable and personable. Thanks!
