A true municipal standout, Prairie Green stretches to championship length yet stays playable through wide corridors and options off the tee. Water and wetlands influence a dozen holes, putting a premium on trajectory control in the breeze. Nugent's green sites are the star-well-bunkered, subtly contoured, and receptive when you flight approaches properly. Multiple tee sets let you choose between a bruiser and a breezy walk. Full practice facilities and event infrastructure support a bustling golf scene.

I return to SD annually for a visit, and 36 holes (in 1 day) with my college roommates from 1977-81. We always play Prairie Green for the 1st 18 (get that 1st tee time). Really enjoy the course, friendly staff, practice amenities, etc. Great place to eat next door. Course is always in excellent condition. Rates are very reasonable.

A Links style course, with plenty of opportunity to score, if you manage the course. But don't let the wide open space fool you, the rough will force you to lay up, or chance it with plenty of pot bunkers, ponds, and tall fescue all around the course. Not to mention all the houses along the course representing out of bounds. A tricky tester of a course.

Booked 2 tee times so we could play as a group of 6 but still made us get 4 carts and play separately. We were slower playing separate FYI

This course is fun, challenging, and very well maintained for a public course. The staff is great and I would highly recommend this course for anyone visiting or moved to Sioux Falls. Will play this course constantly!
