First of all you have to meet Ray😁 He's going to make sure you have everything you need! We had a Womens Golf getaway here. We stayed at the cabins on-site with the course literally within feet! Golf course is in great condition. They also have a walking Par 3. Restaurant on site has some amazing food! Nice Pro Shop with appeal for men and women! I will definitely play here again. Everyone truly went above and beyond!

I just played 18 today and my experience started very well, checked in with the pro shop, manager was very friendly, and even let us go out early because he specifically said they were not busy today. By Hole 2, one of the game marshals came out and rather than wait for us to finish, interrupted me mid-swing to tell us that we couldn’t drive on that section of the fairway, even though the pro shop only mentioned two holes that were cart path only and that wasn’t one of them. There were no signs that marked the boundary where you could drive carts either. He yelled at us and said that if we ever did it again we would be thrown out. I’ve worked at a golf course before, that is NOT how you treat paying customers. I appreciate wanting to keep the course pristine, but with no signs and leaving it up to interpretation what is too close or too wet is not our fault and I don’t appreciate being yelled at. Later on a few holes later, another game marshal came up to us driving towards us in the wrong direction as we were teeing off, and told us that we had another group call to complain that we were holding up the rest of the groups. I was playing in a threesome, and the group that complained was a twosome, so right off the bat that makes no sense of course we would be playing slower. But regardless, the proper etiquette would be to simply ask to play through, which we had gladly let another twosome do just a few minutes prior, but nobody asked. We explained to the game warden that we were teaching one of our group members how to play, so we apologize for playing slow, but we were specifically told by the pro shop manager that the course was pretty empty that day, which is why we saw that as an opportunity to teach him. The game warden didn’t care and told us that we needed to pick up the pace. After letting the group pass us that complained, not only did they drive their carts DIRECTLY ON THE TEE BOX, but they also were not playing any faster or any better than us, and they were playing from the easiest tee while we were playing from the hardest one. I understand that golf courses run a strict operation, as I said I worked at one, but like any business you need to treat people with respect and I did not feel that I was respected or appreciated for spending my hard earned money at your course. Lastly, for us to be helping one of our friends learn how to play, you’d think that out of respect for the sport, the staff could appreciate that because how else are people supposed to learn other than play, but that simply was not the case. Considering the fact that we were causing no harm, not being disrespectful or distracting to other players, I feel that we were treated completely inappropriately. I hope to come back since it was a nice course but with how my first ever experience went I doubt that will happen.

Worst experience golfing by far. I’ve played here 5 or 6 times and a few courses as well I’m newer to golf but never had a problem until Ray decided to ruin mine and my brothers golf day. Hawked us on every tee watching from the hill. Told other people they were good to play through our times. Told my 16 year old brother he has to play from the yellow tees. Told us to hurry up with our play( we waited on a group of 4 every hole). Then proceeded to come to us on hole 11 and search though the cart bc someone lost there “watch” which I know is bs bc those girls were playing same time as us. Gentleman’s name was Ray. Absolutely worst experience ever. And I’m a weekly there but they won’t ever get a penny from me again. I truly expect this comment to be deleted.

Usually I enjoy this golf course, but I won’t be going back any time soon. Course was cart path only, and me and a buddy drove one time on the fairway to retrieve a ball (we shouldn’t have, and I admit that). An older man who worked there then proceeded to follow us while we played for another hole waited for our tires to barely leave the cart path and was extremely rude when telling us to get back on the cart path. My buddy was 3 yards off of the cart path while I was hitting my approach shot when the man told us that if we wanted to play here we needed to get back on the path. We said yes sir and that we apologize. Then before we could even move the man said “NOW!” There’s a thousand ways to go about doing that, and he wanted to choose the rudest way possible. The groundskeepers also asked us right after that to please stay on the cart path as well, and they were nice as could be. Do better Pickens Golf Club and watch who you hire as rangers/ employees. They won’t be earning my business in the future. Save your money and time. This place could care less about loyal customers.

A very well maintained course with true rolling greens and fairly open fairways. Highly recommend checking out this course if you’re nearby. If you are timid due to there being only 9 holes, I’ll say the different tee boxes do a good job of adding variety though out.
