3/11/2026 - Course is in good condition. Before we booked this course, I went onto various platforms to get a feel for its quality. Some of the reviews were pretty brutal. That is just not the case today. I have played some of the best and worst courses in the US and Scotland. I would put this course as a solid 6.5-7.0 out of 10 in its current condition. They had some pretty bad reviews because the course was in rough condition. Understandable if the greens were essentially dirt. The greens are in great shape now. The bunkers have good sand in them, the fairways are growing in right now after the winter months and they are fine. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a little back and forth but there were still plenty of interesting shots to enjoy. It is not Royal Dornoch or Kiawah Island, but it is certainly a fun course to play. (1) REALLY IMPORTANT. If you are teeing off early in the morning, the Gnats are so numerous that they might fly you away. You need bug spray if your tee time is before, say 9am. Or, until a breeze picks up to drive them away. We had an 8:22 am tee time and needed bug spray. By 9:00 am, the breeze picked up and they were gone. (2) Greens don’t hold the approach shots as well as I would prefer. I was off the back on a few holes after hitting the green. High shots should hold or club up and bounce one in there from the fringe. (3) Greens putt pretty well but they are slow. They are plush (a little slow - 8-9 stimp I would imagine), but that makes sense if they are being careful now after losing the greens. I think the ground crew and staff deserve some credit for getting the greens back and for the work they are doing to improve. $100 a round is a little high for this course without further improvements but it is a prime location with some nice views. I would go again tomorrow.

Shout out Greg the Starter and Brian in the clubhouse! This place is awesome! Do not beleive the internet hive mind! Everything has greened up and course is in great shape. They have left the green long due to drought conditions. Very cool views and it gets a bit WINDY!

I’m really impressed how much this place has improved. The views were always amazing but the maintenance team had to fight the elements being right on the water. I’ve been playing it recently and it keeps getting better! Greens run true.

We had an amazing experience hosting our wedding at Patriots Point Golf Course. One of the biggest perks was the free round of golf for the bride and groom, which was such a fun and thoughtful touch. Their pricing was very comparable to other venues in the area, and honestly, the view does most of the work for you. It is absolutely stunning and made our day feel so special and memorable. We chose an off-season date to help keep costs lower, which definitely helped overall. However, the tent walls and heaters ended up being an unexpected $4,000 increase, so I would recommend future couples be sure to factor that into their budget if needed. The only thing I wish they had was a designated space for the bride to hide before the ceremony. I ended up having to rent a trolley for my entrance to avoid ruining the surprise, which added an extra step to the planning process. That being said, I would still recommend this venue to anyone I know. Anna was our venue manager and truly the most upbeat and positive person we experienced while touring different venues. She made us feel so comfortable and supported, which was especially important since this was a destination wedding for us. She was professional, kind, and helped make the entire process smooth and enjoyable. We are so grateful for such a beautiful wedding day!

DO NOT PLAY HERE! Spend the extra money and go play Wild Dunes instead. This course is a giant flat Bermuda cow pasture. The greens and fairways were in terrible shape. The starter tried to teach us how to play golf. The front nine boarders Charleston college athletic fields, so you better hope they don't have a game. The cart paths can only be considered a path by third world standards. The whole course was in abhorrent condition. Stay away.
