Wellman Golf Club in Johnsonville is a George Cobb design that has long served as a community hub. The routing is classic Cobb, with walkable corridors, modest elevation, and greens that reward solid approach play. Ponds and pines shape the shot values without overwhelming newer golfers. Recent renovations have improved bunker quality and turf conditions, breathing new life into the facility. It remains an affordable, welcoming course for golfers in the Pee Dee region.

For late Spring here in SC, course wasn't too bad. Staff was wonderful and helpful, no bag drop off as of yet.. Understand the course has only been around for a few years now, and the upgrades are still in the works. Some of the Greens were very challenging. This course could be a silent gem of SC, a hr away from Myrtle Beach. Well worth the price, and the trip..

Nice course, greens are tough. Signature hole number 11 is a scenic but very tough hole. Cart paths are in rough shape. Good deals on Golf Now.

Excellent redesign by Rees Jones. Course still needs some TLC, such as directions on course and refurbished cart paths. Excellent value. Sand traps come into play in the fairways and greenside.

Played here today. Staff was friendly, layout is top-notch, greens were excellent, had a blast. So glad Wellman Club is back! I will definitely be back as soon as I can.

First time here. Course is in good shape and is an easy track. Though there are some long par 4's. Follow up: The course is shaping up. There are some rough patches, but played well. The greens were in good shape and rolled true, but slow. The bunkers were in good shape and played well. The only issues were people not raking bunkers. Lazy people and there's a rake on your cart so no excuses. Second are the cart paths. Totally need to be redone. The carts won't last long riding on those.
