Holy cow these courses were awesome!! Best value on the island for sure! $180 for all three 9’s!! When we pulled up to the baggage drop the first thing the gentlemen told us was “Welcome to the best greens on the island boys!” They then proceeded to tell us that they have special zoysia grass that doesn’t have a grain!! 🤯 the way the grass grows it grows straight up and they cut it so fine that the grain doesn’t affect the speed of the putts. All putts roll the same! Incredible! We started on Galleon - which has the most water on any of the three courses. I birdied the 8th hole over a huge gator and was pumped about it! Lunch at the clubhouse was perfect! Such good food and drinks that our crew almost needed a nap before our next 18 holes. We played the Brigantine second and it seemed a bit easier than the Galleon but was a beautiful course as well! We finished with a two man scramble with our groups to play Clipper. This course is the longest of the three and thank goodness we played scrambles. We. We’re. Tired. I highly recommend these courses for your guys trip!!

I own a condo on the 7th green on Brigantine and have been there for the past 13 years! I have been fortunate enough to watch the transformation of the course during this time. The course always looked old and tired and lacked tender loving care. The rough was sparse, the approach areas were just as bad. I played here out of convenience and found myself playing elsewhere in HH on the island. The past two seasons, the course has shown the greens super has taken pride in the course. The fairways, tee boxes, rough and approach areas have blossomed under his direction. I find myself playing more at Shipyard not out of convenience because it’s a pleasure to play. The staff and restaurant are very curteous and friendly! As for price point for those looking for a place to play, shipyard is worth a try! You’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Played the Galleon and Clipper courses at Shipyard and had a fantastic round. The greens were in excellent shape – smooth and fast – and the bunkers were well-maintained throughout. Great course with some fun holes that even a newbie can end up with a par on. The only downside was the starter being a bit annoyed at us for being “late,” even though we arrived 20 minutes early. That aside, the staff was friendly and the course layout was both fun and challenging. Highly recommend Shipyard to any golfer visiting Hilton Head!

Called ahead to say we were bringing a stroller with golf club attachment and walking, the lady on the phone confirmed and said okay and that we’d be playing the Clipper course. When we got there, not only did the bag guy give us a LOT of grief for walking with our stroller (“it’s okay TODAY but this is NOT a walking course”) but then we ended up being put on the Brigantine course without really being told or given an option? All the other staff (starter, other staff along the course) were very pleasant and liked seeing a baby come along! Overall just wasn’t a very positive experience. Recommend going elsewhere; we had a MUCH better experience at Old South for similar pricing.

Amazing experience here for our first time at the course. The staff was super friendly and helpful, on the course and at the pub afterwards. The negative reviews that say "you get what you pay for" .... duh. It's $50 per person to golf, cart included. If you pay that and expect a 5-star golf course, you're not the brightest bulb. For what you pay, the course is well maintained and the 4 of us had a great experience!
