Another great golf experience at Atlantic Dunes, Sea Pines Resort. Generous fairways, great sand in the bunkers, and the greens were superb. Lots of hazards water and otherwise. Another expensive experience but well worth it.

My father and I did nine holes here recently, and despite all of my miniature golf experience, I haven't played the real thing in YEARS. This was a pretty cool course! It has a good portion of sand and water hazards, and it not only has a driving range and a putting green, but it also has a CHIPPING range as well! Wow! I've never seen something like that before! 🤩 The two of us had a great time here!

Playing Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III was a really enjoyable experience and definitely one of the better public rounds I’ve had on Hilton Head. The course has a great mix of scenery, solid conditioning, and a layout that keeps you thinking the entire round. The course conditions were very good overall. Fairways were in great shape, greens rolled consistently, and the bunkers were well maintained. What I liked most was that the course feels natural to the area. You get the dunes, marsh views, live oaks, and coastal wind without the layout feeling overly manufactured. The design is fun as it asks for different types of shots throughout the round. There are holes where you can be aggressive off the tee, but there are also plenty where position matters more than distance. The par 3s stood out in particular and were some of the stronger holes on the course. Challenging enough for better players but still playable for average golfers. If you’re looking for a quality public course on Hilton Head with strong conditions and a good layout, Atlantic Dunes is absolutely worth playing.

The good: The course layout is very fun. There are some challenging holes especially around the water that make you hesitate. #15 is one of the coolest holes you’ll ever play. The bad: the price is very high for what it is. It’s not even close to Harbour Town imo. The range is turf and doesn’t have balls out there ready to hit. The pace of play was above avg for the front and slow for the back. No gps on the carts and with all the water on the course it would be good to know where they are instead of using an app the whole round. The rental clubs were surprisingly beat down and DIRTY. I asked for stiff and the driver/hybrid were stiff shaft and the 3Wood was regular 🤔 The putter (Scotty) didn’t even have a cover on it and was all dinged up. My son’s driver didn’t have a head cover on it. Every iron and especially the wedges had dirt caked in the grooves. I had to scrub them the best I could with a dry towel and a tee. If this was a muni I would expect that. For a green fee this price and the rental cub the price they charge I would expect much better. Overall it was fun but I would not pay that price to play it again even if I had my own clubs with me. Harbour Town was 10x the experience.

Our group had an issue arise during our round that was more than fairly resolved by the golf course after the fact with great custom service at the managment level. We played Atlantic Dunes with punched greens that we were made aware of well in advanced. The rest of the course was in phenomenal shape, had great views and played fun for even the average golfer.
