Booked a tee time for me and my 2 kids and my husband. We had 2 carts, 1 kid with 1 adult each. Waited 45 minutes on the first tee for the “members” in a group of 8 to tee off. When they finally got done teeing off, we pulled up to the tee box. Staff tried to kick us out cause the “starter” didn’t tell us to go. There was no starter. And the tee box was open. Pretty sure they just wanted to kick us off cause we had kids. Which they made us pay for by the way. After talking with the staff I convinced them to let us play. They also said they were worried we weren’t responsible parents to keep our kids safe while we golfed. Super disrespectful staff, super shitty golf course. Greens are terrible. Fairways are rough. Bunkers filled with water. They made us pay for 4 people even tho one of my kids is 2 and the other is 4. Would have left instantly but every other place was booked up. Go to traces or country club of South Carolina for a real golf course and friendly staff. 0/10 do not recommend.

Layout of the front 9 is incredible. Front 9 has potential to be one of the most unique 9’s in SC. Very unique playing around a cornfield, a swamp area, the deep woods, and tall prairie-like grasses, and being far away from the city (it feels) with no road noise. If you’re course layout/architect nut such as myself — you’ll love seeing some of the most unique holes in SC. Noticeable front other reviews, the condition, leaves much to be desired. The first green has about 5 square feet of grass unfortunately, BUT it improves drastically after the first two holes. It’s still rough, but prepare for a shock from those holes. I think we can all overlook rough fairways since we can move a ball or manicure a lie, but grass less greens is painful. The back 9 is in better condition, but is far less interesting in my opinion. Still some very interesting holes, but most of it is a pretty standard residential course. If I lived in the area, and the greens were better I’d be walking that front 9 regularly. Clearly money was put into the club house and merchandise, which, is quite a shock to go from such a beautiful clubhouse to the first green with a few square feet of grass. I’m no agronomy expert in any way, but I know golf courses are agonizing to maintain and fix. I wish them all the best in the future, hopefully in a few years they’re able to resurrect those greens.

The entrance has no curb appeal.dead trees and overgrowth. Very nice neighborhood and yards are well kept. On the other hand the golf course is not kept up.

I’ve been coming to old English for the last three years. This was my first time in 2026 playing. Wow, the improvements are so noticeable the golf carts and the GPS tracking is amazing. The holes are looking so much better. I really do see big things coming for this golf course

If I could put zero stars I would, Absolutely awful experience. The course is awful and yes I know they’re working on it. But the guy, I assume was the owner, outside today was extremely horrible. Due to the weather yesterday the course is wet so everyone is on the chart path and my bf and I are here and while hitting balls on the range 3 young boys (appear to be in high school) they were confused and trying to find the correct course to play on. And when they did they noticed the path leading to the first hole was flooded completely out and had deep mud. These guys tried to discuss the best way to get to the path without messing up anything and they went around and yes I know we were told “stay on the chart path” but it was the very start to the path leading to the tee box, and they did not by any means have ill intent. They stopped and discussed it trying to make the right decision. Well this man outside, again I assume the owner, began yelling and cussing immediately and chased them down cussing repeatedly at these young boys. He was not professional at all and dropped the f word multiple times while yelling at them to leave and never gave them a moment to speak or explain or even apologize. I heard their decision process and while I agree they should’ve stayed on the chart path, they were young and didn’t do anything wrong on purpose, and they didn’t cause real damage to anything other than the lightest tire lines. Not even turned up grass or anything. To hear that man yell and scream and cussing at minors in that manner was extremely unprofessional. And again I agree the boys should have stayed on the chart path but the chart path wasn’t easily accessible and they tried to make the best decision. My bf and I discussed leaving and not playing but after paying and hitting on the range and this being the only place open today, we decided we would play today but we will not be returning. Highly disappointed and unprofessional for a course that’s supposedly trying to improve. Also got about 2/3 holes in and the chart path is blocked off and falling apart, and that’s not even the whole course just the first 2/3 holes we’ve played. so I love the encouragement to use what’s not even there (I’ll include pictures). Also they charged an extra $10 just for me to ride with him and not play :)
