I wanted to share my poor experience today @ sweetwater. I have been playing and supporting this course for 4 years. I take friends, my dad, and business clients. Normally Jeff and the staff are always great and have never had a bad expierence until today. I went to go play a round with a cart. I brought my gf and my 10 month old son to expierence a nice course and weather neither play golf. When I walked in I asked for a cart and round told them my son and gf would be riding with me. When it was time to pay the total was $50. I asked why it was so high if the round was $20. They told me it was 3 cart fees including myself. I asked if they were going to serioulsly charge a $10 cart fee for my 10 month old son. They said yeah! I let them know I play here all the time know Jeff the owner but paid anyway. About 3 min later I was handed a phone saying Jeff was on the phone. Jeff told me its to much of insurance liability for my 10 month old to be out. I asked for him to clarify, i was told my 10 month old couldnt defend himself if someone yelled Fore. However there had to be atleast 8 senior players, and the best athletes can do very little to stop a golf ball, it made very little sense. I had to leave and ruined my whole day. Funny, it wasnt a problem to charge me, only became an issue when I commented it was tacky to charge a cart fee of $10 for 10 month old to both guys at the front desk. They lost a good customer who constantly referred other golfers to check it out. Today showed a real lack of service and professionalism and I will no longer support a course that would act in this manner, showed lack of class and understanding there customer base for small local 9 hole course.

Listen, this course is okay. It's nice, the greens are just okay. It's exactly the kind of course you bring somebody who is new to golf, or if you're pretty bad at golf yourself. But if you have any skill at all as a golfer, you may want to think about going somewhere else. Because when you come and play here, you are playing behind the worst golfers in the area. It is nothing at all to take 4 hours on this course to play nine holes. People will drop second balls and even third balls. Husbands are out here giving lessons to their wives and friends. This is not the kind of course you can actually come and play nine holes in 90 minutes and get out of here. I just gave up after an hour and 20 minutes. It's outrageous.

We'd driven from ROC w a stop @ Bingham's in Lenox PA. Waze claimed we'd arrive @ Sweet Water GC in Pennsburg in 2.5 hrs. B/C we didn't want to pay $59 for I476 we retracked all the way back to Scranton to find route to Sweet Water. We were out in construction stops near the course @ 3:10 PM. Our tee time was 3PM and it was nearly 4 hrs. I called the course indicating where we were stopped and the pro shop said "Not to worry, we'll get you out when you arrive" that made me relieved. They also arranged a cart for we senior players. The course played fast turned our 9 holes in just 2 hrs. Gave us all the time we needed to reach our Air BNB on time. Next day my daughter and I returned to play again. Course condition and staff were great and we made the 1 PM graduation in Gilbertsville we came to PA for.

We enjoyed playing there today with a couple who is just starting to learn to play golf. However, the holes are not marked well so if you are not familiar with the course, it’s not easy to figure out where the next hole is. Also, the tee boxes aren’t marked and 70% of the time, we could not find the Gold markers. With a little bit of money and time, these issues could be taken care of.

The course was nice for a beginner like me. We got paired with a nice man who had been there before so he helped us navigate the course. Note that there are balls everywhere. People are looking for balls on your fairway and vice versa because it seems to be a place for beginners. It was busy during Saturday morning but it was a beautiful day. We got a cart but the cart had seen better days. The seats had holes and it didn’t really want to start half the time.
