Castle Hills is a public course option that’s designed for enjoyable, straightforward golf—approachable holes, a steady pace, and a layout that rewards smart decisions. It plays best when you keep tee shots in position and avoid compounding mistakes around greens, because the course can turn small misses into tougher recoveries. It’s a great course for leagues and regulars since it’s easy to learn and fair for competitive play. Better players can treat it like a scoring course by tightening lines and leaning on wedge proximity and putting. Overall, it’s high-utility New Castle golf: practical, repeatable, and easy to enjoy often.

Play here once of week. One of my favorite courses in all of PA. Always well kept.

If you can play 9 holes in under 1 hour, this is the place for you. If you’re an average paced player (1.5 - 2 hours per 9), be prepared to be rushed by the ranger. The course was decent but their attitudes were not. We left after 10 holes, having the ranger on us for 3 holes talking loudly on his radio about how we’re holding up his local senior threesomes, and rudely confronting us in between, which set us back even more. We were well on pace but apparently not for them.
