Description

Victory Hills is a polished public course in Elizabeth Township that’s set up to be both playable and event-friendly—good conditions, straightforward logistics, and amenities that support outings and leagues. The golf itself is built to be fair: you can score if you keep the ball in play, but you’ll pay for loose swings because the layout asks you to choose targets thoughtfully. It’s a great place for mid-handicaps because it gives you chances to attack while still punishing avoidable mistakes around greens and hazards. The facility is designed to handle groups well, so it’s a common choice when someone needs a dependable “bring 20–100 people” course. Overall, it’s a solid Pittsburgh-area public option with a clean operation and a round that stays enjoyable across skill levels.

The course was in good shape for the first week of March. Cart paths are in rough shape, but other than that, it is a fine golf course for the price. Sunset views on the back 9 were stunning yesterday. Looking forward to playing here again this summer.

I usually get out to Victory Hills once or twice per year. My round on 5/29/25 had the course in as good a shape as I can remember. All the recent rain has kept the course lush. The course tends to dry out and get barren in late summer with less rain. Strongly advise playing in the next few weeks vs late summer. All the greens were rolled and in very good shape early in the morning as I was the first to tee off. I echo a prior comment that the greens are deceptively quick, and you don’t want to be above the hole if you can. I hit a couple good approach shots only to have the ball back up by 8-10 feet due to the back to front slope on most holes. One area I was very impressed by was the condition of the bunkers. The long haired gentleman I saw dragging and raking the bunkers was doing an outstanding job. On a constructive note, the tee boxes were primarily in good shape with just a few beat up, notably on a few par 3 holes. Cart paths are not in good shape with many crumbling and a bit of a hazzard. If too costly to repair just take them out in the bad areas. The pro shop area definitely needs updated. I played for $20 on a weekday using the Tee Time Pass, and the cost was more than worth it.

I enjoyed the course very much. I heard a few greens would be very hard to navigate, but didn't get to experience that because of the rain & greens still being softer. Will definitely go back, eager to see how fast they really are. Didn't do as well as I hoped, wasn't playing real bad, just didn't know the course which got me in trouble a few times. Enjoyed the clubhouse & atmosphere.......food also was good and staff friendly

Course is in absolute horrible shape. Greens are lightning fast. So fast you could hit several feet before the green and your ball could likely still go off on the other side. The fairways, yeah there are none. The rough is like a hard rock that just keep carrying your ball. 1st hole was close to the range and good luck finding your ball if you hit just 2 feet left of the fairway. Oh and price $56 for 18 and a cart of weekends. Pay more or less and play somewhere way better. Even in this hot draught we had. Many more courses are in fair better shape. I have to go back to my high school days at Fox-wood Acres for a course in worse condition. The people were nice that worked there. Advice before you go…. golfing in your back yard or a simulator would be a more enjoyable experience.

Easily the worst course I’ve ever played on in 25 years. Also one of the most expensive which makes zero sense with how horrific of shape the course is in. It’s honestly unplayable unless you want to destroy your wrists and clubs. The entire course is comparable to actual concrete. They must not use any water at all. (Maybe they’re too cheap to use water 🤷🏼‍♂️) There’s no fairways (see picture attached and that is every "fairway" on the course) and there was literally zero redeeming qualities to mention. None at all. Fast isn’t even the proper word for the entire course. There may not even be a word made up yet. Your ball just bounces like it’s hitting the cart path no matter where it lands. Like literal tall bounces every time your ball lands. I paid $56 and drove from McCandless (75 min drive each way) and quit after the 3rd hole. My 2 buddies continued to play and I drove my cart with them until the 7th hole just to observe the course to see if it got any better. It did not. I packed up my stuff and took my cart back to the front and the guy who assigns the carts said, "done already?" as it had only been a little over an hour since we teed off and I was already back and said I was done. He asked why and I said this course is absolutely trash and unplayable. And the fact that you’re charging people $56 is preposterous. I would not recommend this course to anyone at all. Ever. Even if it was free.
