Description

Krendale is a true community course—casual, accessible, and built for golfers who want an affordable round without the extra production. The best way to enjoy it is to keep things simple: keep the ball in play, avoid compounding mistakes, and let wedges and putting drive your scoring. It’s a great fit for quick rounds, league nights, and golfers who like repeating the same course and steadily improving. The vibe tends to be friendly and low-pressure, which makes it comfortable for beginners and mixed-skill groups. Overall, it’s high-utility Butler golf: straightforward, enjoyable, and easy to return to often.

This course both excited and really disappointed me….which is a shame. The layout of the course is fantastic, challenging holes, risk reward, beauty,, friendly pro shop, etc. It has 2 par threes that are among the most beautiful holes I’ve ever golfed at, but so many negatives. 1 - course is not well maintained….cannot tell where the fairways end and the rough begins. 2 - Cart paths are the worst I’ve ever been on…Nothing was paved, just gravel or none at all….felt like we were off roading. 3 - Carts were old. In fact, we had to switch after 9 because the hill brake didn’t work on our cart and one of our bags fell off the cart mid round even though it was initially secured. 4 - no ball washers and distance markers were difficult to find. 5 - a few holes were difficult to play as we had a hard time figuring out which way to go, where to hit. (This could be remedied by cutting fairways better, having signage at each hole, and a few modifications on course . For example…the #1 hole on one of the nines (not sure if south or west) is a par 4 over water and doglegs to the left. In the fairway after the approach shot, there is a big tree that is sort of in the middle of the hole. My playing partner hit to the wrong green because of this and the overgrowth which blocked his view of the correct green form where his second shot was. 6 - most of the water on the course was green with algae. Those two awesome par 3’s would have been utterly breathtaking if they had some fountains or water flowing to prevent the massive algae growth which looked awful and smelled even worse. Photos are of the 2 par threes. I would go back for the layout, but it was overpriced based on the conditions. This saddened me to write this because this course can be so much more…it could be a real gem.

18 hole course that seems to be on its last legs. The greens are fine, but the tees and fairways are in poor shape. Clubhouse is nice. Staff is nice. Carts are okay. If it was better maintained it would be a good course. Some odd holes. Hilly and lots of trees. Some water. Worth a try, but not a great experience.

Terrible customer service. I simply asked if I could be 17 an rent a golf cart and he started getting mad at me for it, and told me to go somewhere else and then hung up. The other times I’ve been there I’ve had no such problem. Not sure if it’s a new worker or not, either way he should not be working there.

Where to start…. Oldest and worst carts I ever saw No 100/150/200 yard markings No dedicated cart paths and what there is are horribly rough. No arrow signs to find the next tee Fairways 90% crabgrass. No hole depictions and cheap score cards. Tee boxes make no sense. Never found the tee box for hole 8 South. Overall terrible experience. Please someone with money who loves golf please buy this place and turn it in to a gem because the potential is there.

Played the course on 8/3/24- not advised by the golf shop that the golf course was FLOODED with every part of the course under water. The course should have been closed with the amount of water everywhere (Tee boxes, fairways, roughs and greens). The course needs a lot of work to make it nice (the entire course needs a lot of TLC). It’s a shame as it has a nice layout. *** response to the reply from owner: that is even more reason to close the course or advise your paying customers of the conditions that do not live in the area.
