Pittsburgh North is a Western PA public golf mainstay with a traditional, tree-framed look and plenty of water in play to keep you honest. The property’s lakes add both scenery and strategy—risk-reward lines show up often, and protecting your score usually means picking conservative targets when the wind or nerves kick up. It works well for outings and groups because it has that classic “big-course” feel without being overly fussy. The day is typically defined by how well you manage misses: avoid penalty areas, keep approaches beneath the hole, and you’ll have a lot of birdie looks. Overall, it’s an enjoyable, scenery-forward round that still asks for real execution.

Hope this course never goes out of business. It's an easy walk on and has interesting and and challenging fairways. Almost no back to back holes. Water and sand beware. New carts as of 2025.

Very well maintained public course, just 35min out of the city. A great bargain for the price! Casual atmosphere. Family friendly. Club house is well stocked and serves alcohol. Cash Only.

Beautiful course views and hole layouts. Only thing is that the older female ranger gave us attitude and was quite rude because we didn’t partner up with another twosome. They never asked or offered for us to party up or else we would have before hand and said “we should know better because we’ve golfed before.” Then without asking partied us up with another twosome. Kind of ruined the experience after that.

Course was really great, tough, hilly but was nice. Owner was friendly. Bartender lady was on another planet between not giving correct drinks when ordered 2 beers when 6, needing to remind 5x for the drinks I purchased and forgetting to get people's hot dogs orders . Super spaced out in space

Really beautiful and affordable public course. Sue, the course manager, was very friendly and helpful. We ended up playing a spontaneous 9 holes as a pit stop on our road trip, and it was a great experience.
