Description

Pumpkin Ridge's Ghost Creek is a public course with championship pedigree, having hosted several national tournaments. Tree-lined fairways, creeks, and fast greens make for an exciting and fair test. It's beautifully maintained and walkable. A must-play for serious golfers in the Northwest.

What a track this was!! Ghost creek was in pretty awesome condition! The staff were very friendly. I live in Oly and so this was my first golf trip out of WA and it didn't disappoint! It was alot harder than I expected. The front 9 is very humbling. I hover around a 7 handicap, and It humbled me pretty well. The back 9 is alittle more gettable. You learn real quick, why its called "Ghost Creek" because the creek can't be seen off the tee or even on your approach shots into the green on alot of holes for that matter. The creek sneaks into alot of the holes on the course. I suggest getting a hole by hole course book they sell in the proshop, totally worth it! And while I'm on the topic of advice, it had a LOT of elevation, and if you're out of shape like me, walking there is a bit of a challenge. So maybe worth a cart.. On paper, the course doesn't look that long, and I underestimated it. It plays VERY long, especially on the front. My only complaints, which arent many, is the greens, although were pretty decently fast, they're thin, so foot prints are common. Players weren't wracking the bunkers and fixing ball marks. Which was surprising, giving the fact its over $100 to play.. Also, and this is just little things, but, I've played many courses that are way cheaper that have really nice hole signs that tell you what yardage it is from every tee, and what par it is, and even a basic top view picture or carving of what the hole looks like, so you have some kind of idea, if it's straight or dog leg left or right, trouble etc. Even a ball washer. But no, here it's just the hole # and a trash can... Its a small thing, but expect more than that for such a high end course. But other than that. Was very impressed with the course. Would definitely recommend and play there again!

What a fun place to play a round! Challenging course with quick greens and beautiful aesthetics. A few minor hiccups. Playing a shotgun scramble and our cart died about 500 yards from the clubhouse and 500 yards from our hole. It took the team about 20 minutes to bring a replacement which created confusion. Plus, the website indicates rental clubs are $50 but was charged $75. Pretty easy website fix. Other than those two minor issues it was wonderful.

Absolutely beautiful and well maintained golf course. And this is the public side, so you just know the private course has to be amazing. The course is challenging, but open enough to be forgiving. Cart girl made a fantastic Transfusion. Loved the experience.

Have only played Ghost Creek. Great course, challenging holes. Greens are great. Practice facilities are good. Range needs some work with yardage markers and better targets.

Wow. Hard to believe the last time I was here it was 1997. Immediately following the epic battle when Tiger won his 6th straight U.S. Amateur tournament (three Junior, then three unrestricted). I believe he is the all-time major championship winner with 21 not Jack - with all respect to Jack. This is hallowed ground for golf nuts. The courses are amazing. One private. One public. Call a friend who can get you out on Witch Hollow. This place is a golfer's paradise. It’s a golf club not a country club if you’re following me… Anyone visiting the Portland area it’s a must play - and when you’re done take the long track down to Bandon after. Another gem in the state of Oregon. Both Pumkin tracks have received "best of" awards for public and private courses and only 20 minutes from downtown Portland.
