I have an ecto seat cooler which i will attach photos of because I get over heated easily. It's the one thing that allows me to continue to play golf with friends and family. It is a device that has a hose that you run into an empty cooler of ice with 1 inch of water. I have been using it all summer at Forest Ridge, La Fortune, The Canyons, Baileys Ranch, Page Belcher, Heritage Hills, I have never had a course make such an issue over it or not allow it. If they have a no cooler rule I welcome them to look in it and it's clear as day it's just ice with my tube running out of it. I was treated poorly by some random employee who pulled up to me in the parking lot in his vehicle as I was setting it up and then again inside when I went to ask what the issue is. You have guys sneaking coolers in their bags daily but you don't check their bags. I had a simple backpack cooler TOTALLY EMPTY WITH ICE in the basket of the cart clear as day and even explained how it worked and that somehow is an issue. I even offered for them to look in my bag along with the cooler. This is just stupidity. You can't blame it on your liquor license either because La Fortune is also public and has a no cooler rule and it took 2 seconds for the marshall and cart girl to see it was empty with ice and they let me on my way. It's just straight laziness and stupidity. If you're going to make a big deal out of an empty cooler connected to an Ecto then you need to start checking everyone's bags for their hidden coolers. Maybe ditch the half ass employees with some that have some common sense. I want to be clear I talked to all of these guys with respect and never once got angry or raised my voice. I wouldn't even be writing this review if it wasnt for them being donkey's and making some smart remark over the intercom about coolers literally right after my drive on #1. **Photos are posted on their page as they don't allow them on reviews.

Compliments to the staff and new management at Mohawk for making big improvements to the course and overall vibe out there. Great place to play and practice on a budget + super friendly staff. I was out on the range recently and Greyson helped me adjust the loft on my hybrids on the spot no charge. Big improvements to fairways and greens this year and big improvements still in progress. No it’s not the nicest course in town but it also has a really welcoming and unpretentious feel which isn’t always easy to find in golf world. Perfect spot to get kids involved in the game. If you haven’t been in a while come check it out!

Pros of this course: friendly club house staff, super nice beer cart gal, & fast greens! Cons: I felt like this course was fairly expensive ($99 for two plus cart) - especially considering the state it was in. We had to wait for multiple groups and eventually the Marshall got angry with *us* and said “you need to be playing at 4 hour pace” when their own score card mentions a 4.5 hour pace (which is what we had been sticking to and were doing). The driving rage was pretty low quality and I was very turned off by the interaction with the Marshall. If you’re going to have a pace of play section on your score card and then don’t be shocked we’re not 30 minutes quicker…….. I will not be returning.

the manager came up to me on hole 2 telling me i wasn't golfing fast enough & i needed to play on the back 9 of their other course Pecan Valley which was under construction. so i got to play 9 holes instead of 18, in tall grass, puddles & a ton of mud & gravel. not to mention some holes were shut down for the construction so i think i got to play a total of 7 holes. he told me i could play it twice but im not sure who would want to do that in those conditions. would not recommend if you're a beginner golfer 🥲 so $100 (for some reason they charge both people a $20 cart fee even though their sharing a cart- i've never had any place do this lol) to have a terrible time 😁😁

Everyone complaining about this place needs to stay at their country clubs!! Were the greens and everything in perfect shape no, but the carts were clean, club house was nice, staff was incredibly nice, and course was challenging enough for an 8 handicap and easy enough for my wife that’s been playing for a year! It’s a public course people! Walk in be nice to the staff, say thank you, smile, and have fun!!! #thankyourlocalgreenskeeper!!
