I was in town for work and noticed this course was close to my hotel. The reviews looked promising, so I decided to try and get in a quick 9. However, after arriving, it became clear that most of the positive reviews are over two years old and don’t reflect the course’s current condition. The photos from previous reviews are not an accurate representation of what the course looks like now. There is no clubhouse or restaurant — just a concrete slab where it appears one might have stood, possibly due to a fire. Check-in is done through a shipping container with a deck. While the one employee I met was very friendly, the overall state of the course is extremely run down. There are no clearly defined fairways with maintained Bermuda grass — just a mix of bluegrass and weeds. Signage is either missing or broken, making it hard to navigate the course. The cart paths were rough, made up of gravel, mud, and even bricks, making it feel more like an off-road trail. One sand trap looked like an ATV had done donuts in it. By the fifth hole, I decided to call it quits after losing a ball on nearly every hole due to tall, unkempt grass — even in the fairway areas. That said, the greens were in decent condition and the overall hole layouts were interesting, so there is potential here if the course gets the attention it needs.

This is strictly a review of the golf course. This course was probably a premier golf course in its time considering it was founded in 1914. It is a 12 hole course and according to one of the regulars the 12th hole is a monster. It was reasonably well maintained with very decent greens. The cart paths are gravel but in better condition then Valley of the Eagles a Jack Nicholas course in Elyria. Every hole had its own challenges and the crab grass was easy to hit off of. We liked it and for $10 to walk - what a bargain. Never crowded.

This is a decent little course. Having only 12 holes is kind of weird and the rates went up last year but these greens will challenge you. They have a bar, a restaurant, a fire pit, a pool table and other activities that go on there. The place is well kept, just about any time there isn't snow on the ground and the parking lot is frequently full.

I had to call and make sure this place was open, it's been a while since I've driven by. I called and got the weekend rates as I'm always looking for new challenge. I don't review places before I even go, but I felt compelled to after my interaction with the female the answered the phone. She was very pleasant, super friendly & knowledgeable about the place & definitely inviting. If I don't get out there today after work, because of her, I will definitely check it out for my next round of golf. Maybe even stay for a burger & drink. Second rounds on me 😉

Really nice layout. Friendly staff trying to bring back the property after a fire. Will only improve with tlc.
