The great reviews for Windmill Lakes are warranted. I was very impressed with this public club. The pro-shop and locker room are both top notch. Lots of sale items available if interested. The course itself was in great shape for mid-season let alone mid-March when l played. I was the first to tee off on a weekday and all the greens had been rolled and ran smooth. What impressed me the most was the condition of the bunkers. They were raked and in great shape. These are some of the best public bunkers I’ve seen/played, even more impressive on an early March morning. The course itself has plenty of challenge and length. The scorecard is a bit deceptive at 6100+ yards, par 70 from the white tees. I’m glad I had a GPS with me as every white tee marker was 5-15 yards longer than the scorecard, not one tee was shorter than the scorecard per my GPS. This makes a difference on the par 3’s for sure, and turns 6100+ into 6300+ at a par 70, which is then equivalent to about 6500 yards if it were a par 72. Keep this in mind when selecting which tees to play from.

Extremely long course but with 6 different tee placemats to accommodate all ages and skill levels. Some of the funnest greens I’ve played in the state!

Played 11/1/24 - course was in solid condition at start of November. Lots of leaves, but that’s mother natures wicked wind. We enjoyed the front 9, for sure. Back 9 is pretty straight forward. A fun and challenging track. Really awesome pro shop for sure, solid deals all around as well. Definitely will return during season and play again. Greens were punched and healing but definitely playable. Hit em long and str8

Very nice course with well maintained tee boxes, fairways and greens. Enjoyed plying there with my friends today and home of the Kent State University golf team. Will be back soon.
