The fairways and the rough are virtually the same. Worst greens I've seen and I've seen a lot. It was like putting in the outfield of a baseball field and that may be an improvement on some. One "green" was so dead I didn't even believe the flag was in the right place from 150 yards away. Pace was great for 9am on a weekend and as always the employees were really nice but this will probably be my last time here, I keep coming back every couple years thinking it has to be better but that has not been the case.

Save your time and money. Went here last week and nothing is mowed. Lost at least 10 balls in the fairway. I know there has been rain, but this course has been in rough shape for years. Weeds and giants holes in the greens. The fairway is forest of dandelions Borderline unplayable.

I have a BS Professional Golf Management degree so I’m very familiar with Ohio courses and courses across the country. I haven’t played much golf in years due to increasingly horrid pace of play in Cleveland and the expected increases in cost. I was looking at potentially playing tomorrow, a Saturday at the end of May, and was sad to see the open availability and poor reviews at Pheasant Run. I walked 18 there last fall. Were the first couple greens diseased and fried? Yes. Were they the worst I’ve ever seen throughout the course? No. Were a few fairways covered in leaves? Yes. BUT it was only $18 to walk 18. The nice guy in the clubhouse (different than the nice old man a few years back) seemed like he actually wanted to be there despite only two other people being on the course. He had his dog with him. When one now has to pay $50+ to play a cornfield course in five hours with potentially mean/terrible strangers, I’d say playing Pheasant Run is a treat. No, I wouldn’t bring your money games to this course, but the layout is definitely enjoyable enough to make the drive worth it for me from Cleveland. It is only $36 to ride tomorrow, a Saturday in May, and had I not been going to the Guardians games before and after I’d definitely choose that 35 minute drive to play a quick 18 in under two hours. But I realize that being an option isn’t great for the course ownership. Take the course for what it is and be grateful there’s still a budget option. There aren’t many courses like that anymore as many have been turned into houses or back into farm fields. Pheasant Run makes golf accessible to the Poors of the world. If we don’t start appreciating courses like this our only option is going to be in a simulator. And if anyone cares, golf in the 1970s-ish and before didn’t have amazing greens either, unless one paid thousands for a country club membership.

Just played 18 for the first time this year at pheasant run and let me tell you how impressed I was with the improvements made to the course this year. Let's start with the greens last year they weren't the best diseased and bumpy like putting on a dirt, this year they are all green and im.much better shape still have some that are removing but man makes setting up your puts so much easier. The fairways are all mowed and dont look like over grown pastures and the rough are in much better condition. I must say I was overly impressed with the course conditions and the staff keep up the great work and looking forward to more future roads in the future.

I use to live on this course years ago.. My back yard butted up to the 14th green..back then they still had the restaurant open, and the outdoor volleyball. The course back then was in decent shape, but the last time I took a bunch of my friends out there they had really let the course fall apart. Made me sad... We saw a guy on the 11th hole I believe it was??? Trying to cut the fairway on a little riding mower with about a 20 inch cut. The rough and fairways looked the same. What once was a nice course to live on, and play on has faded away. Update!!! Played here on Father's day 2026 and was really impressed on what they have done with the course. Mind you there were a few greens that needed repairs, but all in all it was in great shape. The fairways were cut nice and low, and the pace of play was very manageable. The young lady behind the counter was super nice, and friendly. I will definitely be coming back. Also, the rates are lower than any course around my area... Hell probably in the state.
