Best of the Columbus City Courses! Very challenging but a beautiful and charming course. Played a Greenskeepers Revenge here last week and had an absolute BLAST! Thanks to all the staff.

I went for a wedding reception. It is has great space. The setting had 15 tables at least & seven people to a table. It had dance floor, men and women, restroom, and water fountain. It had a back kitchen area. If you look at my pictures, you can see the facility. You could look out the windows at the golf course. There is outdoor seating.👰🏽♀️🤵🏽♂️💒💍🥗🍗🍝🧁🎂🍭🍫🍍🍉🧀🍞🥖🍴🍠🧂

Champions review Rating 3.4/5 Value- 4 $50 for 18 holes on a Friday morning/afternoon. Experience- 3 Pace was slow for a Friday morning/afternoon. We had a group go around us and the 3some that was playing in front of us because they were playing so slow. Condition-3 grounds under repair on two holes. Some of the tee boxes were in need of some work. Greens were well maintained but not perfect. Some bunkers had small rocks in them. Facilities/Amenities-4 Practice range, chipping/ putting green Newer clubhouse with an outdoor patio And a small bar, minimal food and snacks. Older carts Challenge of course-3 Overall Play-Tough course There were 2 holes that I felt were unnecessarily difficult with the design. A par 3 that set upon a hill with a valley below and trees surrounding it. A 4 that could’ve easily been a par 5. Majority of the holes were doglegs so you really don’t need to play driver off tee. Challenge came from hazards mainly all the trees. In depth review This course is one six public courses in Columbus. As someone from Northeast Ohio, Summit county specifically, I’ve realized just how spoiled we are with quality public courses. However, I will say, Champions gives some of the best courses in our area a run for their money. This course offers some significantly challenging holes while complementing the difficulty with some truly stunning views. While this course didn’t have much water there were a fair amount of trees and sand bunkers. Most of the courses played on downhill slopes. There were also several doglegs that presented opportunities to go off the tee with clubs other than driver. On course play alone I would recommend champions but they also come equipped with a newly renovated clubhouse, patio, driving range, and chipping and putting green. The clubhouse staff were cordial but not overlay friendly. Thea starter gave great tips and explanations for the cart path rules. Recommendations to the course staff: The only issue I had with the course was that they had 2 holes with grounds under repair that took up about 30 yards of the fairway. But they did provide signs that let you know how far to get to that area and how far to clear. My issue was that they just hosted the USGA Junior tournament and that had to be an issue for those players. Also, I don’t think that any course should be charging the full amount while there’s major repairs going on. If I don’t get the full experience then there should be some sort of discount. That’s just my humble opinion. This is more common practice at courses in northeast Ohio. Overall: I would go back to see the course fully repaired and hope there isn’t a ton wind.

Just a rider and an amateur photographer!! My husband and his foursome enjoyed a beautiful day here on 09/17/22. The course is beautiful, well taken care of, and the staff was friendly. Nice rolling hills and elevation changes. The cart paths are in nice shape and fairly shaded. Perfect shaped trees everywhere. Pleasant other players in any passing situation.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but the pace of play at this course has gotten completely out of hand. It took 3 hours and 20 minutes to play 9 holes on a weeknight—that’s not a one-off bad day, that’s a systemic issue. And if you’re thinking weekends might be better, they’re not. It’s just as slow, if not worse. What’s most frustrating is that there’s clearly zero enforcement of pace of play. The ranger is either absent or unwilling to address the problem. Groups stack up on every hole, and nothing is ever done about it. When you’re spending more time waiting than actually playing, it completely ruins the experience. A course can be busy, sure—but without active management, it turns into a slog. The new carts somehow make things even worse. They’re incredibly slow, and the GPS boundaries are so overly restrictive that the carts will literally lock up while you’re still on the cart path. It’s beyond frustrating to deal with that multiple times per round. Instead of improving the experience, the carts just add another layer of annoyance. What really stands out is that this is a municipal course, and yet other municipal courses in the area are in better condition and far better managed. It’s hard to justify coming back here when there are clearly better options nearby that respect players’ time and provide a smoother experience. Until pace of play is actually enforced—and I mean consistently enforced—this course is going to keep losing players who are tired of spending an entire evening trying to get through 9 holes.
